Christy, I love what you wrote. That is exactly what the final straw was for me to have this surgery. I want to have enough energy to run around with my little ones...to pull them around on a sled or to play basketball with them. Before the surgery I was tired just carrying them up and down the stairs.

My husband did not want me to have WLS, but I had it anyway!! I had my surgery Nov 9,'06 and I am doing great. I am already halfway to my goal weight, and when I get to my goal, I will proudly stand up and say "I told you so"

I haven't tucked my shirt in since 1982!! I can't wait to wear tucked in shirts again.

Linda - has your husband come around at all? My DH too was very much against the surgery but has enjoyed the 'new' me. Not the thinner me (he was comfortable with the bigger me) but the more confident and happier me! The me with more energy, the me who doesnt feel that the only way to relax is to watch reality shows on the couch! Now I watch them on the treadmill!
