2 Months & "First" Goal

Please try not to feel bad ( I know it is easier said than done). You will get there. My sister in law had the surgery 2 years and a month ago and her weight loss went so slow but she got to her goal weight around 18 months post op and is now getting ready for some plastics. Specifically, it took her until 7 months out to reach a 60 lb loss and she started at 244. She also said that early out her weight loss would stop for weeks and weeks at a time and then all of a sudden 5 lbs gone. I dont know if you have any female issues or endocrine disorders but this can make weight loss slower. You will get there, just keep doing what you are supposed too. I know it must be hard but your body is most likely just rebelling against giving up the weight. Keep your chin up.

Shawn that is fabulous. I am looming in on my 8 weeks post op this weekend, I haven't weighed myself this week at all, waiting to see what it is on Sat. I'm bet you feel so much better. You lost the weight of a small child already! Isn't that just wonderful. I bet you have so much more energy and desire to make this work, keep up the great work. Oh and a thought on the snacks, I'm with you on that, I stalled about a week and a half myself and cut back on the snacks and viola the weight melted right off. We really do need to be consciencious of what we put in our bodies! CONGRATS again Michelle

Thanks Michelle!! Yes we do have to be careful and watch everything we put into our bodies now. For me, if I get of track at all it shows on the scale right away. I wish I didn't have to be so cautious of carbs and snacks (even healthy ones). But being healthy and thin is worth it. Shawn M.

Wow Shawn..........WTG girlfriend! That is a huge amt of wt. It makes me picture ten five lb bags of potatoes! or 5 ten lb bags ! Picture that in your mind! Ten bags of potatoes lined up in a row! awesome. I can't wait to say the same. And btw, remember those snack cravings go away if you put your mind focused on something else. Believe me, I am on that medi-fast diet (day 17 with 18 more to go ) where I drink 5 shakes, and one lean and green meal a day. I am famished by dinner time. I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't have that meat and veggie or salad meal. The shakes are regulating my appetite so I actually feel the hunger pangs. Add to that not smoking........its gotta be miraculous I am keeping with it. Ya know what might help with the urge to snack.?? Lifesavers has the green spearmint ones in sugar free, individually wrapped and bigger than the ones in the roll. I buy them in walmart. Not that they're sweet, but something about them , maybe the refreshing flavor, seems to curb cravings. ..not as much for smoking as for eating. Give em a try. And wow......congrat's again.....I am really proud of you Cissy

Shawn......I am a total visual learner. To me its easy to figure something out that way. So I thought of a couple other examples for you to get a grasp on just how much 50 lbs is. (we should start a game on here to come up with some ingeneious ideas) ya know those real large bags of dog & cat food that 's under the bottom shelf in the surpermarket? I ususally buy them once a month and they weigh 18 libs. Well three of them weigh 54 lbx. Or ya know when you buy cold cuts like a lb of ham, a lb of cheese, a lb of salami, turkey whatever? Well picture a 1 lb package of sliced cold cuts, but 50 of them lined up in a row on top of the deli case?? hows that for a visual?? LOL woooooo-hoooooooo girl, that's how much you lost so far. awesome Shawn! w-o-n-d-e-r-f-u-l !!!!!

You keep making me feel better and better about the weight I have lost.... WOW!!! I just thought of it as losing the amount of one of my kids, but the visual you gave me makes it seem even better. Thanks... Shawn M.

Way to go Shawn!! 50 lbs. is AWESOME! And what a drop in clothes sizes!!! I've only dropped from a tight 16/18 to a 14. BUT! I did weigh myself the day after my 2 month anniversary and I'm down 38 lbs., not 35!
