Can you all tell me what liquid protien drinks you all used once you got home after surgery? Did anyone have profect? anyone have Isopure? When on clear liquids that first week or two, what did you all have? in addition? SF popsicles protien shakes water broth ?? I need to get everything in the house. My surgery is soon. I am trying to make up a shopping list. I keep hearing the Isopure tastes disgusting and the Profect is good. and only 3 oz. is 25gms of protien. Please let me know. I hope ya'll are doing real well. Love ?Cissy

Cissy, I drink the Isopure now... I love them.. they are awesome in my opinion, so much better than the shakes I was drinking..... Your liquid diet should be something your doctor directs you on.... Each doctor has slightly different guidlines.. Like I could have cottage cheese, while I know others couldn't. So I would check with your surgeon's office for a list of what you can eat the first two weeks, then the next two weeks and so on.... Good Luck, I wish you the best and I will keep you in my prayers.... Shawn M.

good idea Shawn. they did recommend the Isopure too. I had it in my hand at the vitamin shoppe. ..then put it down. I guess that's what I should do then. Maybe when I am on real food later on it would be good to have some on hand for a quick source of protien. thanks for your prayers Shawn....I certainly do appreciate them . God bless Cissy

I personally like all of them except the fruit punch... but most people think that is the best... my favorite is the pineapple orange banana.... I liked them, from the moment I tried them... But I had been drinking chocolate shakes for over a month before I tried them, so I was in desperate need for a change... I Like them more and more though as each week passes.... Just remember they are 20 ounces, so you can't just drink it down fast, it will take time to get all of it in, but it does count toward your fluid intake... thank goodness.... Shawn M.

NECTAR is one of the best protein powders out there. I love the lemonade, Fuzzy Navel, Strawberry and Twisted cherry I also found out about their Cappichino Latte that I mixed with my decaf...WOW I also like the Isopure Creamy Vanilla....it is really good. You can make a pudding with it too and 1/2cup is 20 grams of protein.... the Isopure RTD are ok in a pinch not my favorite, but if find one you like that is wonderful...I used them watered down when I first got home from the hospital. Also, Micellar Mike is wonderful. I actually add it to my coffee as creamer....

I like the Isopure too, all flavors except for the blue raspberry (I never liked raspberry anyway). I also had the fuzzy navel and iced tea from bariatriceating.com, they are pretty good. The taste is great but they have a smell that wasn't great, I just drank them in a closed top cup (travel coffee cup) so I didn't smell them. I also like a whey protein from GNC, it is called American Sports Nutrition American Whey in Extreme Vanilla flavor. It is so gooood. I drink it with milk and it taste's like sweet vanilla milk. I bet it could be made into a milkshake by adding crushed ice. I had a hard time with protein for the first few weeks, my surgeon told me not to worry about it too much for the first few weeks just to try my best. I explained to him, I couldnt bare the thought of the protein drinks that I had tried and liked before surgery. He told me that would go away and it did within 2 weeks. That was the point he suggested the Isopure and I liked it OK then but I really like it now. Crystal Light Lemonade (not a protein source) is one of the easiest drinks for me still. Best of luck to you.

One more source of protein: GNC has a liquid protein that you only have to take 3 tablespoons of for 18 grams of protein. It comes in orange and fruit punch (my favorite). The liquid protein can be mixed in drinks but I prefer to take it by the spoonful and just get it over with. It tasted like a little thicker melted jello. A little expensive but I wish I would have had it my first month post-op.
