Possible Stricture
Kristina-
I normally post on the Alabama board, but lurk on this board. I just went for a swallow test this morning to rule out a leak or stricture. I was wondering if you could describe what happens to you. Are you able to keep liquids down, or is it just food that you throw up? How long has this been going on?
I don't throw up EVERY time I eat, but it's usually at least 50% of the time I do get sick. I am trying to follow my dr's instructions, but I must be doing SOMETHING wrong.
I hope you don't mind my asking all this, I just thought I'd compare notes..
Good luck on Friday! I'll be watching for an update.

I can usually keep liquids down. Sometimes they come back up if I drink too soon after I eat. I do OK in the morning and then by afternoon/evening I am usually throwing up what I eat. I have done better the last couple of days, but I don't know what the difference is. I have been slowing down a little bit, but I didn't think it would make that much of a difference.
I also was able to eat more at a time before and now I can eat just a little bit.

I went in for an upper GI today to rule out a stricture.. they found all was normal but I still am having troubles.. water is okay but I ate 2 little beans from some chili and boy am I feeling sick now. I don't know if that is symptomatic of a stricture either or what.... most foods just make me feel ill so I just eat a small bite and that is about it... not doing well and would love some advice... thanks

Can I join this club. everything makes me sick these days Seems like the only thing I can eat is white fish, string cheese and yogurt. some fruits do okay as well. I can't seem to get more than 1 - 16.9 oz bottle of water in a day ... I drink 2 glasses of milk and sometimes a rare cup of decaf coffee. I am so totally fed up with not being able to eat ANYTHING. I mean I knew it wouldn't be a smorgy lifestyle after surgery. I did my research, I had a ton of friends as well as a sister that had WLS but I feel like I got the raw end of the stick. Not to mention I was (pretty Much) made to move out of state and I lost my medical insurance. I had planned on getting on Medicaid till I could get full time work and they said NO way. so now i am really worried I have a stricture just like all of you.. and no way to fix it. I just want things to go a little smoother.. le sigh. thanks for letting me vent.
