Hi all. ....my counter says I only have 11 days till surgery. I am going to be so freaking glad to get it over with its not even funny. Please dont forget to sign my surgery page. I want to print out the prayers and well wishes to take with me to the hospital .....I need all the faith, encouragment, and courage you can give. I am not a coward, but I just don't want to die haveing this or from complications I have way too much to live for. Which brings up my next comment. Please go to my page and check out my photos. I recently posted Christmas pics of my family. I love you all, and I hope you are all doing wonderfully well, Cissy

Cissy, you will be fine! Look at all the people on this board who came through just fine. The nerves right now are normal. I hope the next 11 days go fast for you and then you can be on the other side. How are you coming with the pre-op diet? I signed your surgery page too. Take care!

I don't know you, but I wanted to let you know that I had the WLS (LAPRNY) on Nov 9. Before the surgery I was taking insulin injections 2x a day and taking 2 other meds for diabetes. I was taking 2 meds for high blood pressure and taking 2 pills for high cholesterol. I had sleep apnea and pain in my hips and knees that was awful. I just had my checkup and I am off ALL the above meds, the sleep apnea is better and I haven''t taken as much as a tylenol for any pain or headache. You are going to feel so much better having the surgery, I feel like it is a dream for me. I am not saying that the surgery is easy, it's not, but the benefits to your health will amaze you. You sound afraid of the surgery and I sure was too. The best thing I did was just keep telling myself, YOU Can Do this! Take good care and keep in touch!! Linda in Maryland

Hey Linda, Hey Linda! thanks for your kind, and helpful words. That's terrific how you are doing so well! That is what my surgeon and I discussed. Just how I will come off my insulin, oral diabetic meds, b/p meds and all the rest. It's not that I'm afraid of the surgery. I am afraid of how much I know about the surgery and the mortality rate. ( I am a nurse ). In general nurses know alot more about medical things than your average lay person. So that is the problem. but now, I have had enough time to get informed, education, and ready....more than before. I am just trusting God more than anything, that He won't allow me to die for a very long time. My work on this planet isn't finished yet. So ok, I will keep in touch. ...I'll add you to my friends list. take care of yourself.........and keep going.........God bless Cissy

Cissy, You will be fine, we have all come through fine. I was so scared prior to my surgery and I had surgery the year prior (hysterectomy). I really wasn't scared so much for myself but for not being here for my 3 1/2 year old son. I almost backed out at the last minute. When the gentleman pulled up to my room with the Gurney (Spelling??) I told him, "I don't know if I am going or not?". My husband was trying to be supportive but said "I dont care how much money we lose, if you don't want to do it then dont". I couldn't get a peace with leaving but I couldn't get a peace with hopping on that wheeled bed either. Then, my Mom (whom was never to excited about the surgery) hugged me and told me to go ahead, that I would be fine and I did. That was all I needed. I cried while I was in the anesthia holding area but then a woman in a bed across the way started talking to me and she was a 3 year out gastric bypass patient and she assured me that it was going to be fine. She was back for her tummy tuck and looked great. I did tell the surgeon not to let me die in there and very unlike his personality, he promised that I would be perfectly fine. I have prayed for you and I know you will be too. Cry if you need to but don't let fear stop you..... Christy

My anesthesiologist was the best and most reassuring in the hallway before going in. I hope you have as great an anesthesiologist as I did. It will be fine. You will be fine.

Cissy - Here is a prayer I said the night before and the day I had my surgery. I asked him to clear the hospital of any bad 'things' and to my other angels to guide my surgeons hands. I need to say after I said the prayer... I felt such peace. I wasnt afraid... I knew I would be ok. I hope it helps! FOR CLEARING WITH ARCHANGEL MICHAEL Just say "Archangel Michael please be with me now! Michael with your band of Mercy please clear me both inside and out, my home, my vehicle and everything in my home and vehicle and my surrounding property of all excess energy, negativity, earthbound spirits, entities, lower vibrational energies and being, psychic dirt and debris, slime, parasites and any entity, energy or being that is not from the light or has been reprogrammed by the light, Michael take all of this back to the source of light from which it came! So it is! So it is Done! and Thank You Michael and your Angels. Then ask AA Michael and your guardian angels to surround you with golden light of protection. At the end, ask AA Michael to assign four large Warrior Angels (see two male and two females-balance energy) one to the North, South, East and West to always guard and protect your home and everyone in your home including all pets or living things, and everything in the home right now and thank you!
