My Dad
I spoke with my mom yesterday and found out that my dad (who was very against my surgery) is thinking of having the lap-band procedure done... I am so excited... My dad has been close to 400 pounds for most of my adult life and I worry about him all the time... He is diabetic has had to have hip surgery and has really bad knees... he is now on bp meds too.
I can't believe how my success has turned him around and that he now want to make his life healthier... I am so excited for him... I Really hope he goes through with this and changes his life.... He is now 66 years old so he needs to do it soon before the doctors turn him down from his age.... I am still in amazement over how his attitude changed...
Just thought I would share that with you. I did not think my success woud affect him the way that it has... Woooo Hoooo for my Dad!!!!!

That is great!
My mom, one of my good friends and my father in law have all consulted with my surgeon since my surgery. I am not sure that my father in law is going to have the surgery. BUT he is dieting with a NUT and has lost weight and has been exercising - he is doing so good. I think its great to inspire people to become healthier - no matter what THEY choose surgery or not.

That is so great to hear!!! I hope that a few of my friends are able to see my success and happiness and choose the same route as well. Of course it's a personal choice for everyone but I have one really good friend who I just know would completely benefit from this surgery...unfortunately she's pretty against it.
I'm actually one of those that made the decision to look into surgery seriously because of a friend who had such great success with it. And I am SO thrilled I did!!
Anyway, I hope he does go through with it. It would be such a load off of your mind!!
