End of year check in....
I wanted to check in with everyone and see how everyone is doing, feeling, how is the eating going, how did you fare through the holidays?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am actually starting to feel wonderful the last few days. It took a couple weeks to recover from the dehydration. But I am, just trucking along, slowly working up on the food. The holidays were a little difficult, because although I was not hungry, I wanted to taste everything. My MIL made a comment that I was so good and stayed on track...LOL, I didn't really have a choice.
So, How are you guys doing?
Hi Sophia,
Well, I only had one problem before Christmas with some turkey and mashed potatoes - one day they were fine, the next - not so good. But that was the only time since my surgery that I've gotten sick right after eating.
I'm still having difficulty getting in all my fluids, but find (right now) that warm liquids like herbal tea, and s/f apple cider, seem to be easier to drink than the cool water.
At dinner on Christmas, I ate a little more than my four ounces, but not much - I tried a little bit of everything too, but still went with some ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans and some squash. My sister made some s/f pumpkin pie with s/f cool whip - and I thought I was in heaven (or cheating big time!).
Overall, I'm doing well.
I hear you on the pumpkin pie.... I made a s/f and low fat pie and it was so delicious... I made two more the next day, just so I could have a little treat over the next couple of days.... I make sure I get my protein in before enduldging though.... It sure did feel like I was cheating. However, I did try a piece of ham yesterday..... BIG mistake!!!!!! It will be a long time before I try that again... LOL.... Overall I think I did really good... I drooled over a few things, but did fine resisting....
I'm doing great!!!! I am SO happy I did this. Literally in just a few short weeks it has totally changed my life. I love it. I feel great, I'm looking more awesome everyday. I don't try to actively avoid looking in mirrors anymore. I love (and hate) the fact that my clothes are falling off me. I love the fact that I can wear regular necklaces without extensions anymore, rings on my ring fingers that never used to fit anything but my pinkie. I can eat my tiny little meals and not only feel full but completely satisfied. I'm looking forward to adding a little more variety as I get to officially move to "soft" foods on Friday, I've been pretty darn good about sticking to my pureeds for the whole 8 weeks so I can't wait to chew something Vitamins are still a little hit and miss but most of the time hit so I'm doing pretty good with that...the protien and liquids are much better. I crave cold, cold water all the time so it makes me always have it at hand which makes me drink all the time! Holidays were easy for me as we don't do a big family holiday (all the family lives out of state) so it was just me and my honey. I made him his fav beef stroganoff for dinner and just had some of the juice/soup part of it which was way yummy.
I hope everyone else is doing wonderful too! I'd love to hear from everyone!!
I am doing well ... nope, I am doing great. I have been pretty good on the water and protien however the vitamins are more difficult. I have never been a pill taker and forget the afternoon doses. Excersize has become something I love to do in the morning. My gym closed this week (will re-open on 1/2/07) so I cant wait for that. I also signed up for a no-sweat stretch class that starts 1/16/07. It combines yoga/pilates and core training. Looking forward to added different kinds of food back into my life. I cant tell you how much I miss having a salad or veggies.
The weight has slowed down this week... but I cant complain, I have lost 43 lbs so far. Better yet I have been able to fit into my skinny jeans (size 18) and my suits so I know the excersize is really working. Although I want the pounds to go down... it is how I feel is the most important... and I too actually like to look in the mirror now. (Of course with my clothes on... the tummy sag is kinda getting gross!)
Hi all!
I'm doing ok. I'm down ten since my surgery, which is actually great, for a lap band patient. I'll be thrilled to get my first fill in the middle of January. I'm becoming quite impatient to start my loss.
As for the surgery itself, I'm doing fabulously well. Completely recovered, no issues at all. Even my incisions are completely healed.
Hope all is well with you all!
