HOW MANY OZ, CAN WE HAVE AT A MEAL?
Hello Ladies, I for one am having alot of trouble with how much to eat at one meal. I usally weigh my food (tuna, cottage cheese, veg, etc) to 3oz a serving. Okay here is my problem, I do not feel full and I eat my 3 oz of tuna, veg's, and I know that I could eat more, sometimes I throw in 3oz of cottage cheese, I KNOW that I should not do this, should I just stick with 3oz of tuna and veg's and call it good and stay away from throwing in something else to eat at the same meal or what? Please I need help bad.
Thank You
Chrisy
Are you eating just 3 meals a day, or do you have snacks between meals? I would think that if you are just eating 3 meals a day, the extra cottage cheese would be OK. Just as long as you aren't overly full. Just an extra thought--are you looking to be full or to be satisfied (no longer hungry but not full). Perhaps you want to look for a sensation between those two. Also, are you losing weight? One other point to ponder-how fast are you eating? Could you be eating too fast? I have confidence that you will figure this out. Just don't make yourself nuts with guilty feelings! I had enough of that when I dieted presurgery. Best wishes, Linda
Thank you for your reply. Yes, I am having three meals a day, no snacks, except protein drink. I think that I am looking to be satisfied and that I am not eating TOO MUCH, although I do weigh my food out. Yes, I am losing weight, slow, but that is okay by me. I put my baby spoon down in between bites and wait. I will figure this out by fault or default, and I think you hit the nail on the head "guilty feelings" that I am eating to much.
Thanks again

I measure my food volume wise. I was told that at 4 weeks out that i should be eating no more than 1/4 measuring cup at a time. During my first 4 weeks I had a hard time tell what full felt like with my new pouch. I suggest eating at a table feet flat on the ground and after you are done eating move around do not sit for the 30 or so minutes you are waiting till you can drink. If you are like me when you stand up after eating you will fill that full sensation. I use that thirty minutes to clean the house fold clothes, do dishes, etc. I hope this helps.
Thank you very much for your reply, it has really helped me, I did not even think about getting up and moving my butt around after I ate, and it did seem to work on knowing if my stomach was satisfied or not, thank you. I went to your site and you are a very pretty lady and you also had surgery the same day as I. I am down 18lbs as of last Wed, dont know if lost any until I weigh again at the doctors, (dont trust my scales) I have also lost a total of 27 since I saw the surgeon in Oct. I cant wait to feel better, walk better, and have fun. Again thank you for your reply, I will try it all.
