Anyone concerned about hair loss coming? I am, and I wish there was something to prevent it. Any ideas?

I read somewhere that someone's nut had told them that lack of biotin is the cause of hair loss and you can get supplements for that. Also I think protien intake has a lot to do with it. So super important to get all that protien in and more.

I am taking Biotin twice a day. I hope that staves it off. That's all I'm doing now. Also, once it starts falling out, Zinc can help too, but it's hard on the system and they don't recommend taking more than what is in your multi-vitamin unless there is a reason to. I hope the Biotin will do the trick so I don't have to take Zinc.

Amazon.com sells a liquid biotin that is easily absorbed. Also, we should keep trying to get 75 grams of protein every day. As far as I know, that's all we can do.

I admit I'm a bit worried about it too... but from what I've heard there really isn't much you can do about it... The good thing to keep in mind is that it's temporary and when your body adjusts, whatever you lost will grow back. Yea - don't I sound confident... Now watch me be the first one to start blubbering about losing my hair when the time comes!!! Marilyn

I had a hair appt about a little over a week post-op and the first thing my hairdresser said to me was EAT YOUR PROTEIN! She said it will help reduce the amount of hair lost.
