Problems eating everything
I am having a problem whenever I eat or drink anything. It started on Monday and continues today. Everytime I drink water, milk, or protein drink I hurt from my stomach area all the way down to my gut area. It just feels like a really bad stomach ache that lasts for several hours. Maybe I'm not chewing enough or taking small enough sips but I haven't eaten much today for fear I would get sick again. I have only vomited once and when I did I had just eaten a couple bites of moist chicken and took 3 bites of canned carrots. I didn't drink anything 30 minutes before/after. Before I threw up it felt like it was all in my throat and just wasn't going down and within minutes I was in the bathroom. I am going to call the dr office tomorrow and see what it could be but I wanted to ask here first in case someone else had the same problem. I just saw the doctor on Monday and told them I wasn't having any problems and then WHAM! I get home and it all starts. I am also wondering if the intestine was reattached if there may be a problem there. Seems like I was doing really good for the past 3 weeks and then this all happens. I just need to get some input from others who have been there before me.
Thanks,
Regina
My sister-in-law had this surgery about 2 years ago and had the same issue at one month out. The doc said her pouch was healing and the opening's are closing up some as they should. However, you have to be careful that you aren't developing scar tissue which blocks the pouch completely. That is what she was told and it did pass with time. I would definately call the doc just to be safe. You will probably need to force the liquids so you dont lose hydration. That can make you very sick. I hope it passes quickly, my thoughts and prayers are with you for a quick recovery from this.
Regina,
I concur with the other post. You could be experiencing constriction which is where the exit from your new stomach is getting too small because of scar tissue. It's definitely something to talk to your Dr about. My Dr said about 10% of patients get this after surgery.
I wish you the best!

I am having a problem with solid foods. I can keep liquids down but everything else seems to come up. I have had to cut my portions almost in half since about a week after I had advanced to soft foods. I keep taking too much at a time and then it comes back up. I don't know if this is the same thing or not though. Maybe I am healing and the opening is getting smaller, I don't know.
