The nurse practitioner told me that we are still at risk for blood clots for one full month. I was surprised to hear that. I was walking 40 minutes a day on the treadmill but gave it up because my G-tube site is so sore. Are you guys still doing a lot of walking? I guess I will start again.

I was told for 6 weeks we are at risk..... that is why I am still on blood thinners from my doctor.... I never did do a lot of walking, but I am more active now than I was before surgery, so I figure that counts..... LOL.... Shawn M.

I am still doing my walking of 3 miles a day and if I cant walk, because of the rain here in Oregon I get on the stationary bike, and I still move my legs in bed like they say when you are just laying there. I'am like everyone else "I dont want blood clots" dont need them. I have restless leg syndom, so my legs are moving constantly in bed anyway, but I have put the bar of soap between my mattress pad and sheets and low and behold "no more RLS" it does work, I have had this under sheets now for about a year, so now I have to force my legs to move so I will keep them moving. Hey Wanda... Yep I heard the same thing! I had a DVT earlier in the week when I had really bad calf pain. I had to go through the whole "study" (which is basically an ultrasound of your leg) because they found one leg bigger than the other but they didn't find any but the experience was a little weird. It ended up not being a blood clot but low potassium causing the cramp that lasted forever. I will pass on all those blood clots, that is something I most definitely don't need.
