Can you believe this?

Hi all- It's been a while since I have written because, guess what?, I had an emergency appendenctimy last week...It started on Thursday, 3 weeks after my surgery...I had just been moved to purees and i got a stomach ache which i assumed was gas. When it didn't go away I got worried that something was stuck. Soon, I was throwing up and in the bathroom every 20 minutes. In the middle of the night I awoke with the worst pain of my life on my right side. We rushed to the ER at 2:30 in the morning and surprise- my appendix was enflamed and needed immediate surgery! Now I've had 2 surgeries in 3 weeks and I must say I am having the poor me syndrome. I truly cannot believe it. The docs say the 2 are unrelated, but I don't believe it. Somehow they must be connected! Unfortuately, they were not able to do the appendix laproscopically so I am in severe pain. Anyway, just sharing with my friends here. And...today is my 4 week anniversary! Hope all of you are faring better- Joy

Joy, That is just horrible that you had to go through that at all, let alone so soon after your WLS. It sounds like you are in pretty good spirits aside from your pain. Glad that they caught it and you are doing well now. Take care of yourself and rest. Hope you have a speedy recovery. Shawn M.

Oh boy I feel for you. I bet you were happy (in a way) to hear that it was your appendix raher than a complication. It stinks that it couldn't be done lap. you are in my prayers! Hugs, Britt

That is awful. You had your surgery 2 days before me! I haven't been feeling too good, but your story makes me feel lucky. I hope you feel better soon. Rest and think good thoughts.
