Hi all, I hope that EVERRYONE is doing well. I am four weeks post op (this past Monday 12/4) Wow that went fast. So far I am down 21.5 pounds. I must admit I thought I would be at 25 pounds. It seems my body is stalling a bit ... I have read & read that this is normal. But, still I wish the scale would move a little faster. Regadless I am happy with my loss thus far. week 1 - 11 pounds week 2 - 5 pounds week 3 - 3 pounds week 4 - 2.5 pounds I am so THANKFUL that I took my measurements before surgery. I remeasured my self at 4 weeks post op. I lost a total of 10.5 INCHES!!! 5" off my waist alone ... yippee My hubby bought me a gym membership for an early Christmas presant. I start on 12/18 (After I get released from my surgeon to begin exercise) - I know that will help with both the scale moving and my inches to keep coming off. I am still on a puree / soft food diet until 12/14. I have gotten sick a few times - not fun! . Not really sure why did I eat too fast? (I do not think so) Too much? (I do not think so) or did the food just not agree with me that day ? Maybe???? This is a whole new learning process. I am back to picking up my girls. I could take it anymore and called my surgeon. He said just to becareful for 2 more weeks and bend with my knees to lift them ... so far so good. My poor Mom was here helping out 3.5 weeks. Thank God for her! She was SO helpful. I know that she needed to get things done with the Holidays - and I am feeling so good, I felt that I was wasting her time. BOY do I miss her help .. lol Well I hope that you are all doing great! hugs, Britt

Hi Chissy, I have been walking BUT, not on a regular basis. You are right I am sure that would help. Its hard to fit that in with the kids ... When I start the gym I am going at 5 am (yawn) before my hubby leaves for work. To walk outside at 5am is too Dark and Way to cold. How are you doing? Britt

Great Job Britt!!!!! I took my measurements too, and I was so glad I did. You are doing a great job, keep up the good work. I start my gym membership on Monday. Even though I still have restrictions, at least I can go and walk on the treadmill... it is too hard to walk with snow on the ground and only 15 degrees outside....LOL.... I will wait for the gym too, I don't blame you.... Good Luck... Shawn M.

Hi Shawn, That is great that you are stratin the gym Monday ... I am sure we are going to be melting off those extra LBS!!!! kEEP ME POSTED and let me know how you are doing. I know getting up at 4:30 am is going to take some getting used to. But I know that it WILL be worth it. Plus its some "me" time - before the kids even wake up Hugs, Britt

Wow! you are doing great! I have yet to experience nausea. I'm sure it will happen at some point. Congratulations on your weight loss! I don't think it's slow at all. Keep up the good work.

Thanks, Britt... actually I've only gotten sick one other time and had to as much as I didn't want to... You are SO right in that this is just a whole new set of "learning" things. I have found I can only eat 2 to 3 bites of something like soft meat but 3-5 of something like soft veggies. It seems like one day those couple bites are fine but the next I can't do more than 1 to 2 bites. I had some meatloaf the other day and it just about killed me! (or at least that's what it felt like) I thought at first that I had eaten too much, but now I suspect it was because there was too much juice (fat) in it... Do you get the vice-grip feeling in your chest? I'm trying to figure out if that's pure over-eating or if that's the feeling of something not agreeing with you (or maybe they're the same feeling?) One thing I'm having a hard time with is wanting to eat more than 2 danged bites of something! I know it's a "head" thing but it's difficult getting past the idea that 2 or 3 bites and I'm DONE till the next meal... I actually don't remember the weight I was when I went in for surgery... I know I lost something like 11 or 12 lbs on the pre-liquid diet, but I'd rather just remember one number anyway... so I just count it all together and so in that case, I'm down almost exactly 30 lbs, so am pretty happy with that. Now if I could just figure out how to keep it up AND eat till my brain is happy! (kidding) Marilyn
