3 weeks out. How did everyone fare do to weight loss
I am just over 3 weeks out and I have lost 25 pounds. The reason is probably because I have been sick for over a week. Now that I am feeling better and able to eat a little, my weight loss will be less. I think the average is about 15 to 18 pounds the first few weeks, and then it seems to slack off for awhile. It didn't take us 6 months to put on all this weight, so I'm sure it will take longer than 6 months to take it off. Be patient!
HI, I am 4 weeks out, and according to my pcp's scales I have lost more than mine say, I am going to go by my scales, (shoes and all) and they say that I have only lost fifteen lbs. as of today. I will take the 15 any time, because I know that I would have never of lost 15 in 4 weeks without this surgery. I do believe like the other ladies on this site that "I am at a stall" but we have a life time for it to fall off of us now. Just stick with it and sip and walk and we will have it made.

I'm one week and two days out.. and I've lost 14.5 pounds! I can not believe how well I feel.. Everyone is different.. Everyone's body reacts differently to this type of surgery.. a friend of mine who had surgery gain 12 pounds while in the hospital.. and has just recently lost that.. Give it time...

I am three weeks out too and I have lost 12 pounds since the surgery (25 counting the pre-op diet). I think our bodies are probably still focusing on recovery rather than rapid weight loss. It will come. Prior to surgery I had lost all hope and wasn't able to diet or lose weight at all, so I am ok with my progress for now.
I am 18 days post lap band surgery and I've lost 12 pounds. I lost 16 lbs. pre-surgery on the liquid diet. I am considered a "lightweight" as I have less than 100 lbs. to lose. I am five feet tall and started at 217 lbs. I weigh 188 today. I think you need to take into consideration pre-surgery weights and BMI's when analyzing other people's weight losses. Usually the heavier you are going into surgery, the more rapid the weight loss. Big pounds for the big... little pounds for the little. It's fun to see how others are doing, but remember that you are going to find others who have lost more. Remember that the goal is to keep the weight off in the long run, not re-gain a year from now like we ALL have done many times before. I'd rather lose 50 lbs. and keep it off FOREVER instead of losing 80 and gaining back 40!
