Having trouble with the water

Corrina, I just thought I'd be better at this water drinking, and I'm mad at myself that I'm not doing better. Re the sodium in the broth, I start soft foods tomorrow. I went to the grocery store and was looking at cream soups. I was just blown away by the sodium content. The only one that they had in low sodium was cream of mushroom which is not my favorite. This has to get easier. hugs Loretta

I have been using those individual Crystal Light packets in a bottle of water. But I don't like to use the whole thing because it is too strong. But I am finding plain water doesn't taste as good as it once did. I did find a treat for myself though. It's the liquid POM juice in green tea and lychee flavor. Yum!

Kim, Thanks for the advice. My mom bought me some of those SF koolaid packets in grape flavor and that seems to be working for me now. I'm still falling short of the 64 oz required. I sure hope it gets easier. hugs Loretta

I agree that getting enough water in is a hard thing to do!! They're kind of pricey, but I found it REALLY easy to sip bottles of Propel, they just taste REALLY good and I "justify" them by reminding myself that I'm not eating any food! Also keep an eye on the color of your urine. If it's not real dark then you might not be as dehydrated as you fear. Marilyn

Hi Marilyn, Thanks for the advice. I've never tried Propel, but will check them out. So far, my urine hasn't been very dark, so maybe I'm doing better than I realize. hugs Loretta

Hi, I have just joined today. So, I am browsing the topic threads. I am having trouble with getting water in, too. But, mine has symptoms more like reflux. I am calling the DR today. But, I found a new water from Special K ~ called K20. It has a small amount of protein (5g) in it which the other waters don't. I don't think the sugar is too bad (I think 7 grams in one bottle). It is a good thing to hear all of your stories and help! Thanks, Bruce

Hi Bruce, Welcome to OH. If it wasn't for this site, I wouldn't have been anywhere near ready for surgery. So much info and support here. Hopefully your surgeon gave you some info about the reflux you're having. Yesterday, I tried swallowing a small pill and must have swallowed it and the water too fast and up it all came. I don't think I've every seen the water you're talking about. I'll have to look for it at the grocery store. Good luck. Loretta

Have you talked to your Dr about the 7 grams of sugar in the water you are referring to? My Dr told me to make sure that my protien drinks had 5 grams or less of sugar, 7 seems like allot in your water.
