MY 1 week post-op update!
I am down 12 pounds since i came home on Monday...
I am off all 3 of my blood pressure meds already and even two other meds for other stuff. Of course I am on a couple others for the next few weeks (pepcid & coumadin), but those will be gone soon enough....
I am feeling pretty good... no hunger yet, it was great to have some yogurt this morning. I am getting in all my protien and close to all my fluids... it is tough, but I am doing it.... sipping sipping sippping.... It doesn't even bother me when my family eats their food, it actually does not appeal to me at all.
Overall, I am doing wonderful... even went grocery shopping for the family the other day (with my hubby of course). Have not been on any pain meds since around midnight Sunday night. So I would say that is good....
Well, that is it... Hope everyone had a wonderful Thankgsgiving........

Hi Shawn,
So happy for you........isn't this surgery some kind of miracke? Like everyone gets off meds so soon, even after only loosing 10-15 lbs and such. Even some get off diabetic meds soooo fast. It has to be more than the weight loss. It is some kind of miracle.
I am so happy for you. ...God bless you and your family

That is awesome Shawn 12 Lbs WOO HOO
I have read a lot about RNY patients not experiencing hunger for quite a few months after surgery that is brilliant and will definitely help while you are adjusting to your new innards.
I still needed to take pain meds for a while and still get a stitch at one of my incision sites so I think you are doing marvelously dear!
Keep up the great work
Take Care

Doesn't it feel good to feel good??? Everyday is a bit better than the last. I was a little nervous about today - Thanksgiving - but I really wasn't that tempted. I knew my tummy would rebel and was happy with my protein drinks! You are a champ if you can get all your water in . . . how are you doing it? I can do the protein, but the water has been a challenge, interestingly enough . . . Denise
Way to go Shawn!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good for you and keep up the good work! I am down 15 3 weeks postop and I am a lap bander. As soon as you are comfortable enough to start walking distance I recommend getting out there! My husband and I walked 5.25 miles last night in the fog it was kind of romantic! Hope you are feeling 100% soon. Love Jackie
