It has been 6 days since surgery I am on clear liquids and I am so hungry. I know after Wednesday I will graduate to stage 2 but I am going nuts.

Oh I know what you mean! I'm on liquids (not necessarily "clear") but pretty limited and want some "real" food so bad!!!! Are you allowed sugar-free jello? That helps me a bit. Hang in there!!! Marilyn

It has been 12 days since my surgery and I am still on liquids, and yogurt, sugarfree jello and sugarfree popcicles, and they sure are good and I think I am in love with them.

Oh dear! I don't have any advice (still pre-op) but I'm not looking forward to the phase you're in. Hang in there -- I'm pulling for you! Donna B.

Hi there- I am also on liquids...I love the Sylvester Stallone puddings. I got them at the Vitamin Shoppe. Really think it tastes liek pudding and 20 grams of protein! Good luck- Joy

Awww I feel for ya! Every day I look at the list of what I can have in Phase 2 and I make a grocery list daily - I guess it helps me somehow. I'm not actually hungry now, just bored. It'll get better! Hang in there!

Call your Nutritionist right away don't do this alone. He/She may suggest cottage cheese or adding potato flakes to your broth that is what mine did. Good luck and I certainly have been there. I go for my postop checkup today and I have been eating steamed veggies and cottage cheese and tomorrow is two weeks. I have lost 13 lbs. Never hesitate to call your nutritionist that is what they do best! Jackie SE MI Are you making any shakes???? You need to make one, look in your book for a receipe.

I had the same problem (I am having a really rough time with the shakes) and called my nutritionist this am. She suggested I add 1 egg white to my broth. (You boil your broth --separate the yolk from the white, then slowly add the white to the broth. I use a fork so it doesn't froth up. It makes an egg drop soup. Easy to go down and adds an extra 3.6 g of protein to your broth. I make a double batch and then simply reheat in the microwave) Seems to help. I ate this tonight when my family eats their dinner (That has been killing me... the head hunger watching them enjoy chicken parm, I have had to leave the room and not join them for dinner!). I have tried to keep my eye on the prize and one of the many prizes we will all get was yesterday when I got on the scale, 17lb loss in 6-days! Worth it. To also help psych myself out I have also started packing up my really big clothes so that they are ready to bring to good will. (I lost 40lbs before I had the RNY, but hesitated to give away the clothes in case the surgery didn't happen... weird, huh!) The only items I am keeping are the sweat suits and a few t-shirts (24's). I might be the lucky one that has lost and gained so much that I actually had tubs of clothes in storage ranging from size 28 down to 14's! So the 28, 26 & 24's are in my husbands truck to move on to someone who hasn't made our decision yet. Never to be in my storage again! Check with your nutritionist, if he/she says its ok... enjoy the soup!
