Whoo Hoo! You can do it! Just think, you'll be on the loser's bench before you know it! And with a week of liquids behind you, your body will have less to adjust to after the surgery. It's all good! I'm proud of you for staying "true" to the liquids. It's hard. I'm finsihing my 4th week of liquids - surgery on Monday- and this, by far has been my most exhausting week. Week 1 was bad, and then I was okay for a while, but this week I've been going to bed beween 8:30 and 9:oo p.m.! Just so pooped out - I can hardly do my exercise! I'm not sure if I was walking the dog today, or he was walking me! Good luck with your surgery on the 22! Denise

You'll be on the other side before you know it. I wish I would have had more liquid time...my surgeon only required liquids the day prior. Now I'm fighting to find liquids to stay interested in. Keep up the hard work...surgery will be here before you know it!

Hi there - we have the same surgery date! Do you have any restriction on how much protein you can have? I was sticking with the recommended 60 grams, but that left me vulnerable to slips and tired. I don't have any maximum number of protein grams, so I upped it to 80 and that's really made a difference. I have to travel for business tomorrow and Tuesday and am pretty worried about that, especially the "dinner meeting." But I'm so looking forward to Wednesday that I am hoping I can just gut it out. Hope you feel a bit better and that you have a safe and uneventful surgery. Best, Stephanie

Goodness, Lianna, no wonder you were tired! I know I couldn't handle just 40. I just looked at my pre-op instructions again and mine say 60-80 grams of protein, more if needed, HOWEVER, no more than 6 protein drinks per day. I also have to stay below 50 grams of carbs, which is the hard part. I can also have some soup as long as I build it into the carb allotment. It's kind of amazing what that one small bowl of hot soup does for me. If I'm busy at work I save the soup for dinner instead. But sometimes work is so stressful that the hot soup really helps me in the middle of the day. Here's how I've been trying to do it - is it sort of similar to what you're doing?: 7 am Protein Drink, Decaf coffee 10 am Protein Drink 12:30 pm Soup 3:30 pm Protein Drink 6:30 pm Protein Drink, Sugar Free Jello 8:30 pm Protein Drink (if needed) I have to drink more water, however. But I just hate it - and I'm sick of Crystal Light. Maybe I'll try some herbal non-caffeinated tea or something. Good luck right back atcha! I can't believe in just 3 days we'll be official bandsters! It can't get here soon enough for me.
