5 more days!
Hi Terry,
I'm going on the 15th too! And I have the same thought about how this is "elective". And why in the world would I let a doc open me up and re-arrange my insides. I'm nervous about complications that may come up on the other side. Other than that, I have everything all ready. Just have to pack.
Good luck to you! I'll be thinking of all my fellow surgery sisters/brothers on the 15th.
I was nervous just like you and all those emotions and the things that run through your mind you will find that they leave you when you wake up and its all over with. It is then that you start to think about recovering. Doing what they tell you to do. Sip sip sip walk walk walk. They let me sleep for 4 hours after surgery ( lap band) because they had so many bypass patients to make sure they get up and around. I am not complaining because the bypass patients do go through more than the banders, its true. I didn't hit my button for things very often I got up and walked out there to ask for them. I felt the bypass patients needed the nurses attention, I was fine. Sore is about all. Today it is 3 days out and I am home. Sipping and walking and playing on my lap top. I will do some dishes and the laundry is piling up. I think I can switch the loads if I do it piece by piece. I cant be held down too long. You will do fantastic and your surgeon will do fine. Thoughts and prayers are with you.........Jackie
