I have 2 more weeks till my big day. My husband will be there the day of surgery, then come back Friday to get me. I found out yesterday that I will be having all these visitors on on Wednesday evening & Thursday (Thanksgiving) day. These are new friends & some I have never met (on this board). & my pastor & his wife will be there. I NOW am more nervous about all the visitors...not about the surgery, just all the people seeing me right after surgery. How crazy is this?????? I have only had 1 other surgery on my foot & didn't need heavy pain meds after that, so I'm not sure how I will be on the drugs after WLS.... I'm soooo worried I will make an a$$ outta myself in front of my new friends.... Don't get me wrong I feel so blessed people care enough about me to come visit me during there Thanksgiving holiday, just getting stressed over this... I'm 1 of those people who no one but my husband & kids have ever seen me without my makeup/hair fixed. Ok....go ahead flame me if you will....but thats how I'm feeling today.

Julie, You will be just fine.... Everyone knows that we aren't beauty queens right after a major sugery. Don't worry about how you look, just concentrate on getting better and your recovery... They are your friends and they love you for what is inside, not what is outside.... Don't forget that. Best of luck to you on your surgery.... Mine is only one week... I have my hubby there the day of surgery and then a littel bit on Friday as well, then the day I go home.... But I have no one else coming to see me... Count your blessings that you have such wonderful friends and that you WILL have visitors, it will help pass the time... Well, good luck and prayers going out to you. Shawn M.

Honey, your visitors will understand if you are not up to visitors. It's ok to tell them you are tired and thanks for coming, but I need to sleep. Or even let your nurse know beforehand, so they can put you on the no visitors list if you want. I hope you can concentrate on YOU and what you need. Try not to let the visits stress you out. They will deal with whatever you want. You are the one going through this and they want to be supportive of YOU! Welcome to the board!

Hey Julie, I must agree ... have the nurse put up the no visitors sign if you don't feel up to visitors. Tell the nurses that hubby and kids are fine, if you want, but that is totally understandable if you don't want visitors. I am having surgery same day as you, Julie. We will go thru it together. ((((Hugs)))) Kim :-)
