Getting Closer!
I finished the psych eval last week and did the barium swallow. The psychologist is very interested in this field and is collecting data for a publication she's working on, so it was all very interesting. She's totally plugged in with the surgical team and knew SO MUCH about the surgery, nutrition, etc. I was really happy to have met her and am looking forward to her involvement in my care.
The barium swallow was truly ghastly, but they had a fancy new GE imaging machine and the doc was able to place the screen where both he and I could see it - it was FASCINATING! I do hope I don't have to do that again any time soon - total gag reflex - but it was really interesting.
I just have the meeting with the nutritionist and my pre-op clearance appointment to finish and then I'll be good to go. Still scared about the liquids-only pre-op week, but I'll get through it.
I ordered a bunch of protein and the Unjury arrived today. I'm going to give it a try and see how it goes!
Keep the faith everyone and have a WONDERFUL DAY!!
best,
Stephanie
Thanks guys! It IS, INDEED, going to be a FABULOUS week! So much to learn, so much to do...
And today's my B-DAY (sorry to toot my own horn) but it puts me in a great mood.
By the way - the Unjury non-flavored in a cup of coffee with fat-free creamer is pretty doggone yummy. I can definitely get my mind around that concoction.
Thanks for the encouragement!!
Stephanie
