Here's my update
Hey you all,
My surgeon wants me to quit smoking for 6 weeks before my surgery. So I won't have a Nov date after all. I know it's for the best. Now I have plans for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I think I should just wait till after christmas. If I quit today, then 6 weeks would be right before Christmas. I don't think so! I might as well enjoy the holidays with my family. Especially since I have so recently broke up with my crazy alcoholic husband.
I have to stop smoking. Each day I smoke is 6 more weeks till surgery. I have smoked for over 30 years now. So friends, please pray for me. I can try a few options to help. I can pay out $159.00 to get an evaluation , at the hospital, to see which way is best for me....or get the patch the pills or the gum. Does anyone have any suggestions on how YOU quit.?? I would appreciate any help at all.
thank you,
Cissy
Cissy,
Best of luck to you, I know how hard it is to quit. I quit almost 6 years ago after 13 years of smoking. It is tough but you can do it. Stay focused on the prize you are working toward.... When I quit I had a motivation as well. I was having my tubal ligation reversed. It was such a delicate surgery the doctor informed me that quiting would give me the best results and smoking can create scar tissue where you are healing inside... considering how tiny the tubes are, any scar tissue could make it an unsuccessful surgery... well, that was enough for me, I put them down and never had another one since.... However I did have 2 more kids and my surgery was a success.
So my only advice is to keep you mind on what your goal is and WHY you NEED to quit. Best of luck to you and I hope you are succcessful with quiting....
Shawn
Cissy,
I don't think I ALWAYS have the right words for everyone, I jsut say what is on my mind and try and help in any little way I can. I know how important it is. I also know that many people out there don't have any support, while I do, so I try and give as much support as I can, to help out a fellow WLS friend.
I am glad my words were of some help to you. Thanks for the kudos.
