ON THE UPSIDE OF WLS
Ok, so this is great for all of us nervous , excited, and roller coaster riders to focus on for today. We are going to shrink very quickly . 5 lbs is alot of wt to loose per week for like at least 6 months or more. The very first thing we need to do the very day of surgery is:
1- walk in the hospital to prevent blood clots
2-HEAL our insides with protien and water. Remember that on our insides we will have three rows of surgical staples at four? different sites.?
The outside little incisions will heal fast. The insides take quite a few weeks. So focus on that first , healing the insides.
3- I can't wait to feel myself melting fat. What alot we all have to look forward to health wise, and size wise. wow...............wwwwoooooooohhhhhooooooooooo!!
I am so looking forward to being 100 lbs less by next May. Just in time for summer.
Have a great day everyone!

I know what you mean about being 100+ pounds lighter by May/June... my oldest son graduates this June, and I can't wait for all our friends and family to get a look at the new me.. and most of them have no clue of my upcoming WLS. They will be shocked... They all saw me at my nephews graduation this past June at 300+ pounds and hopefully I will be under 200 when they see me again. I can't wait.... Thanks for that reminder...

Im very aware about the healing process, thru my past surgeries,i learned real quick how to take care of me first. The rest will come later. My Mom saw to it that I took care and was well before returning to normal activies. My DH is my care taker now,and he is the same way.I dont count the pounds now,im just trying to get a little healthier.Like being able to breathe, bend, walk and maybe live a little longer.Im 58 and im not expecting to lose like a younger person, but every ounce will help.Im down 31 pounds since I decided to have wls.So maybe this will give me the tool i need to help lose and keep it off. Happy Halloween!!! Judy Hitt
Great advice...one to add that my surgeon said about 20 times during my pre op appointment...cough... pneomonia (I'm sure I didn't spell that right) is a real possibility after such a major surgery so making yourself take deep breaths and coughing even though it will hurt will make it much less likely that you will get that nasty little bug.
10 more days for me...can't wait!!
