Surgery date is November 9th!

I go this afternoon for my consult and I have lots of questions for my doctor...I hope he doesn't mind! I am getting very anxious about all of this. I had opted at first to get the open RNY done and now, after much research and stories from my doctors other patience, I think I've decided on getting the laproscopic RNY..I would love to hear from anyone else who has had this proceedure done. I am really wanting to know what your recovery time was compared to those who've had the open RNY. Well, wish me luck and I will let you know what he says!

Congrats on having a date. Wow what a quick date especially since you have not had your consult yet. I Had my consult back in June. I wish mine could have moved that fast. LOL..... I don't think anyone here has had their surgery yet though, so they won't be able to answer your question. I would help if I could, but I can't. I am planning on a lap RNY, but I have had 4 sugeries on my belly already and may very well end up with an open RNY depeding on the scar tissue my doc runs into. I didn't figure there would be many on here who had had their surgery yet, since it's a November post, but thought maybe there would be some on here that have anniversery's of thier surgery in november who might have some insight...either way, i'm ready to get this done. I have waited a long time for this and am ready to get it over with...I look forward to feeling like a whole new person. Thanks for the luck...good luck to you too! Brandy

My date is also Nov 9th !!!! I am having the lap RNY, I have read that it is easier for recovery and the pain is less. Good luck with your surgery, and I hope you have a quick recovery, let's compare progress notes sometime.
