Frustration

Hey, anyone had this happen? I have been rescheduled 2 times due to my surgeon not informing his staff that he is going to be out of town. It was 11-10 then 11-15 and now 11-27. They offered 11-23 but I want to spend Thanksgiving with family, not in the hospital. One of my friends said maybe this is a sign I shouldn't have this surgery. What do you think? Is this a sign from above? Kolleen

Kolleen, I asked this same thing "is this a sign?" I was scheduled to have my surgery 10/9 - I came down with a cold and it had to be canceled & rescheduled - new date 11/6 We know ... its life and "things" happen ... its how we deal with them that counts. I think it is the disappointment and Frustration that you are feeling - this is a major decision and one that I am sure you are EXCITED, a bit nervous about it and have made plans according to your surgery date - and then the darn date gets changed Personally ...I know that this is what I want and need to do for myself and my family. Don't let this fustrating bump ... get you off focus of your goal. start counting down your new date with excitment!!! and use your EXTRA waiting time to get even more prepared for this AMAZING journey. Lets hope the time flies by for both of us hugs, Britt

Hi Kolleen, I haven't had to be rescheduled for my surgery, but so many times in my life things have had to be postponed. Occasionally numerous times. I don't think it's a sign that it shouldn't happen. In my opinion, maybe it wasn't just the right time yet. All things happen for a reason. Besides, third time's a charm! AND now we're surgery sisters! My date is Nov 27th, too! I'll wave to you from recovery. LOL Hang in there... you're almost there. xoxo, robin

Sorry I'm so late at replying. Thank you so much for your responses! I read them the next morning and it truely did cheer me up. I am now on the countdown and happy that the time is in sight!! THANKS!! I'd love to talk to any of you while we wait. I'm looking for good ideas for things to buy for food on hand after surgery and what to take to the hospital. Kolleen
