I got approved less than two weeks after the first letter was sent and I have a date now. I requested November 27, as my parents will be taking time off from work to watch my 2 and 1 year olds. And although I would like to have it earlier, I know that this is best for everyone involved. I am really looking forward to getting to know you and I'm sure this board will be really hopping here in another month or so. Joanne

I was thinking the same thing about this board. I think a lot of people tend to get there dates for as soon as they are approved but I planned mine around work and family availability.

I completely understand about trying to have the surgery as soon as possible, but for some people that just isn't possible. In fact I'm have to reschedule my surgery because of my family availability. It looks like my new date will be December 4th.

I did the same thing. I planned it around my projects at work and my family (vacations, etc)...I totally agree that people jump on the first date. I couldn't do that, I am too much of a planner...

Wow that was fast. I am new on this board and just "browsing".Am interested in either lap or Gastric bypass. But I have Kaiser and am wondering what kind of insurance you have that got you in so fast?. I understand Kaiser is super slow and frustrating. Good luck Gaylene
