My goal for the week...
Do NOT skimp on my cardio...get my 20 minutes on the boring treadmill in each time I go to the gym, and make sure I up my stepper time and rate and keep it up...no making it easier when I'm close to being done and exhausted. Also to make sure I do my free arm weights at least twice and to have my partner give me more resistance on our ab exercises.
I met my goal today again. I even added free weights to my treadmill time...I figured pumping my arms with weights is better than pumping them with nothing.

Hi Janet - Don't beat yourself up - I'm a slow loser, too, and it's been discouraging to see all these people who have lost 130 pounds in the time that I've lost only 80. But then I think, "Hey, I've lost 80 pounds in 8 months!" That's pretty darn good for someone who hadn't lost weight in about 20 years. So we need to stay strong and keep on doing what we're supposed to do and we'll get to our goals. And some good news - we slower losers aren't dealing with gall bladder issues and our skin is having time to shrink back better than the faster losers. So maybe I'll just shut up and do some crunches! Keep up the good work.

Goal for the week: 4 days of at least 45 minutes of activity (I'm on the road until Wednesday, so I may as well be realistic)
Monday: Walked 2+ miles in downtown Chicago, plus spent 11 hours on my feet at the trade show.
Tuesday: Walked 1.5 miles at lunch and 2 miles at dinner, plus spent another 10+ hours on my feet.
Wednesday: In addition to running through airports, I did 50 minutes on the treadmill.
Thursday: Tried a new class at my gym tonight called Body and Soul. It was as though you did a fusion of salsa and hip-hop dancing and just kept moving for a full hour. I was sweating so bad when it was over, I actually took off my t-shirt and drove home from the gym in just my sports bra and shorts.
Friday: 55 minutes on the treadmill at 3.3-3.8 mph and inclines varying from 3.9-10.9. I'm getting to the point I'm having trouble making my heart rate targets without the massive inclines.
Goal accomplished, but I'm still planning on hitting the gym tomorrow and Sunday.
Blessings,
Jennifer

Topic: Day 6: No Excuse Exercise Challenge
Hi all,
Since I plan on sleeping in tomorrow, I fgured I should post Day 6 tonight.
Saturday is my last day to met my exercise goal for the week. I'm so excited. I might just work out on Sunday for the hell of it. LOL
Ummm, I went to the bowling alley today and bowled 3 games by myself. It took about 50 minutes, does that count as exercise? My face was a little sweaty and my right arm feels tight. What do you think?
*********************************************************
My Goal:
Exercise 4 days for 1 hour.
Progress:
Day 1: Elliptical 30 minutes, Walking 30 minutes
Day 2: Elliptical 25 minutes, Walking 35 minutes
Day 3: BREAK
Day 4: Elliptical 30 minutes, Walking 30 minutes
Day 5: I will count 50 minutes of bowling for now. I'm not sure if I should look at it as exercise.
Day 6: Elliptical 30 minutes and probably 30 minutes of lower body exercises

You are doing GREAT and you should be very proud. I'm trying to get out of that settling mode. Just because I lost over 100 pounds, I got "comfortable", but I still have more weight to lose. So I need to kick it up and start doing more than the usual.
You are really an inspiration and I encourage you to continue to push further and further.

I just have swimming today after work and then Saturday morning. I actually like swimming--probably the only exercise I do like! And now I've learned the trick of putting conditioner on you hair before putting on a swim cap. That is really helping my hair not dry out so much. I need to take care of what I have left!
Enjoy the weekend,
Sally

Got up this morning right on time. I ran even further this time! I think about 31/2 miles. Yea! It was more difficult because my Ipod died after the first 1.5 miles. Ugh. the music keeps my running rhythm. I was happy with my breathing (in colorado the altitude effects you) but my legs started getting tired. Guess I need to do more leg work and get the endurance up. also came home and did 100 situps I know this is always more information than yall want but I am very proud of myself and look forward to seeing how far i can push myself. All my life I settled and never would push myself know I like the challange of seeing how far I can really go.
