Hi Tanya! I am continuing my follow up with my GP and surgeon. Although this is my first trip to a GYN in about 3 years. Back then I had been seeing the ONLY dr who would take my insurance.... and she was awful. I decided that I was just as well off with no care as I was with her. When I finally got married and on my my hubbys policy, no decent GYNs were taking new patients because in our area there was a surge of physicians leaving when malpractice insurance premiums went through the roof. (there are very few Obs in the area anymore because the ins rates) I have a GP that I love, my surgeon is awesome, and I am hoping that the new Gyno will be everything I have heard. I really need a reliable treatment plan. I wonder how long it takes after surgery for your hormones to regulate. Thanks for the response! Janet

Janet; I lost just 4 lbs. this last month (and 98 lbs. total). I've got 4-18 lbs. to goal (depending on which measurement you go by). My big change in the last month is that I increased my workout intensity and frequency and I think I'm probably not eating enough for my new activity level. I've got a call in to my nut to find out which carbs I should be adding in to help balance things out. Blessings, Jennifer

Susan; In addition, have your doc check your BP when moving from a sitting to vertical position. Low BP is a common post-op problem. When my mom was about 22 months post-op, she spent 5 days in the hospital and code blue'd 3 times while she was there. Now she's on meds to keep her BP high enough. Blessings, Jennifer

Diane; Thanks for your kind compliments! I take Body and Soul at Lifetime Fitness. I know they've got locations in many states because I use my membership a lot when I travel, but I'm not sure if they're in New England. www.lifetimefitness.com is their web site if you'd like to check it out. Good job on getting to the gym! Blessings, Jennifer

Janet; Yet another example of the differing information we get from different surgeon/nut teams. Mine says no LESS than 70. Good luck! Blessings, Jennifer

Janet I hear ya...I don't have PCOS but I have endometriosis and adenomyosis. I had to have an endometrial ablation in June due to excessive bleeding and things have settled down a little but not completely resolved. My WLS surgeon told me that unfortunately it was not all that uncommon for women to have increased female problems after WLS. After all the hormones are stored in fat. My only advise is to continue to follow up with your WLS surgeon and GYN. Have them work together to develop a treatment plan that is right for YOU. I wish you the best Tanya

I will have to check out that article! I am very thrilled that even thought I am a SLOW loser... I am STILL a loser. For nine months I have developed a lifestyle that has made me a healthier, more active person. It has been wonderful for both my physical as well as emotioal health. Thanks a bunch! Janet

Janet You already hit the nail on the head...the weight loss is going to slow and sometimes stall at this point in our journey...BUT it has not stopped. I lost NO WEIGHT in the past month. My body is still changing as my size in clothing is changing...but you have got to stay focused on doing the right things. Water, protein, vitamins, exercise...you know what you have to do and if you're doing it then don't beat yourself up about the scale. Trust in what you're doing and know that you're body will do what it's supposed to do as well. Congratulations on your success! Tanya

Hi Chrissy! My GP put me back on 500mg of Metformin at my 3 month check-up. I will go see a GYNO for the first time in a few years at the end of September... I am hoping that he will have some helpful advice. I have spent most of my adult life being told "if you would lose weight your female problems will go away" They haven't... and there is no sign of improvement so, now that I am thinner I am hoping they will take my problems seriously and not just blame it on obesity. Thanks for your response! You can keep in touch with me anytime! Janet
