You have had a tough time of it lately. I am sorry for the loss of your dad. I am sure that you are missing him terribly. Although you have not lost any weight during this time of stress, you have not gained any either from what you write. That is a miracle and likely would not have happened in the bad old pre-wls days, am I right? Celebrate this small victory and be proud that you did not regain any weight (or significant weight). Now get back in the saddle and get back to the business of losing that weight. Good luck and happy days in the future.

Amy; Sorry to read about the stress you've been under. You've made a great first step by coming back here and getting support from those who have been there. It's good that you've had time to recover from your gall bladder surgery and that is working out. Scary how some hospitals completely don't have a clue. I used to live by one of those when I was growing up. No one ever wanted to be in a situation where you were taken there via ambulance because it wasn't likely you'd make it out. I'm sorry about the loss of your father and the ensuing melee. I hope you've had time to grieve and are healing from his loss now that you're back home and away from that craziness. Unfortunately, the military will never change. It always seems they're moving people cross country at the worst times. But, at least you're far post-op now...you're not having to deal with changes in surgery schedules because of the move or early follow-up care issues. So, while it's not ideal, it's not the worst thing that could happen. With regard to your weight loss. Anytime I stop losing, I go back to basics - not as extreme as going back to liquids or soft foods. I refocus on protein, water, vitamins and exercise. Yesterday, I even started using fitday.com again to help me see where I've become lax in my routine. And I found out that I'm not eating anywhere near what I should be for a 9 month post-op. No wonder I'm not losing weight very quickly...I got in less than 700 cals for the day. Also, exercise will give you time to think and enjoy some time away from others while giving you a positive endorphin boost. You'll be in my prayers. Blessings, Jennifer

Jennifer Thank you. I'm open and honest and hopefully it will benefit one other person. I started my period and have been having female problems (mentioned in previous posts) so I know when I break out the scale this Saturday that it should be moving back in the downward direction. I'm sure I was retaining some fluid. Still it was a wake up call that I need not be lacking in my basic life skills for getting to and maintaing a healthy weight. Tanya

Amy, So sorry to hear of all your stresses. Remember why you had the surgery to begin with, it's for you. I am frustrated with my lack of weight loss lately, and can sympathize with you. When you get to Boston, look me up, the support group meetings I attend are in Winchester, and are great. Keep your chin up, Diane

Thanks Carla, Congrats on your loss. This plateau is the worst one yet, I've had a couple of three week plateaus before, and kept trudging alone. This one is frustrating, but I keep exercising and following the rules. Hopefully, it will break soon. Will keep you posted on plateau buster diet. Thanks for your encouragement. Diane

Hi Jennifer, Thanks for your reply. I haven't measured in a while. I'll have to do that this week. I will also check into fitday again. I appreciate the encouragement. Diane

Ok I havent been on in awhile and I decided that no better place to emotionaly vomit than here with people that understand my relationship with food adn my struggles. Ok the Stress factor is 2.5 months ago I had emergency gall bladder surgery adn in the diagnosis ended up with a formal complaint to the Hospital which I could have sued for( misdiagnosis) I live like 42 miles form the hospital and was passing out litterally and was told to go home and eat somethign I just have low blood sugar. Well next day i saw the clinic on base and they said my gall bladder was so bad I was scheduled the next morning for surgery and they were worried I might burst over night. But as you can see I am ok. The second stress factor is my father died July 27th and when I arrived back home to do the funeral arrangements it was Jerry SPringer had to call police get Lawyers and litteraly prepare everything and I am the youngest in the family adn live 1800 miles from Home. So now things are calming down more but in a way they are not. I am now having to move to Boston MA in two months . Gotta love the military. Ok my weight has not been moving in a couple of months and now am getting frustrated. I am 210 lbs adn my doctor said I am to be between 160 to 180 for being 6 ft tall. I am really frustrated I am almost thinking of going back to square one again but dont want to go extreme if I dont have to. Amy

Tanya; Another very brave post. I haven't gained, but I'm not losing like I'd like to. Especially considering the 6+ hours I'm spending at the gym each week, so I too jumped back on fitday.com today to see if I can notice any trends. Blessings, Jennifer

Diane; I'm experiencing the same thing. My surgeon's protein guideline is 70g/day, so you might be a little low on the protein. Are the fruits you're eating low glycemic index? There's a woman on the light-weights board that swears by only LGI carbs. What type of exercise are you doing? Have you tried changing your exercise routine up? Your body may just be in a rut. Also, are you using a heart rate monitor? It could be you're exercising at either too high or two low of a heart rate to burn fat. And, the question we all hate: have you checked your inches? I've been losing 1 lb. a week, but I was losing more than that before I more than doubled my exercise program, so I'm pretty stressed and disappointed about the situation. I went back to using fitday.com today to see if I've let some foods/calories creep back in that I'm not realizing. Even though I haven't been using it consistently lately, I ran a weight report and was pleased to see that my average weekly weight loss is still 2.26 lbs./week. Let me know how plateau buster works for you. I've not tried it to date, but am considering it if things don't start moving. Blessings, Jennifer
