Topic: Wow, can't believe it
I can hardly believe it's almost a year since going under. I've lost 147 lbs to date (well, as of sept 30th). Gone from size 26-28 stretch clothing to a size 18 jeans and 16 top. bra size went from a 48DD to a 36D. panties from a size 14 to a size 8. and can now fit a regular chair without fear. can also close the seatbelt in the car, and fit behind the steering wheel without using the tilt to raise it all the way up. I haven't hit any real plateau yet, but the loss has slowed down. I've lost my job, which sucked. (they didn't take too kindly to the post op complications). I can actually walk up the stairs to my apt without having a heart attack. Guess it is getting better. Blessed Be Me

I know how you feel. I am eleven months out and I have hit a plateau. I started out at 326, now 163. I have been at this weight for at least 6weeks. I have done everything I know to do. Who ever posted the 10 day diet thanks! I'll try it. I'm in a size ten and feeling great. What is so hard is I want to be at the goal weight my surgeon has for me.(150lbs.) I go back and see him on the 16th of November. Wish me luck! I hope I can at least get closer. Sherry C.

Topic: RE: What are your 1 year goals?
Sally; I too came from the "I hate exercise" camp, but in March, I joined a new gym that was a little expensive, but really nice. The environment was a place I wanted to be, it was clean, didn't have any strange smells, unlimited clean towels, a salon, a cafe, etc. I was spending a little out of my means to be there, so that kept me motivated to go at the start. Now, six months later, I'm at the gym at least 5 days/week and my body has completely changed. And, when I travel, I take my workout gear with me and actually use it while I'm gone. Working out has really helped me with skin issues. In August, I was starting to see some "elephant skin" going on with my thighs, so I increased my weight training on my quads. In 10 weeks, there's been a marked improvement and I'm hoping in another 10 weeks, I'll look normal. So, get out there and find exercises you enjoy and track your progress. When you start seeing results from the exercise, it's very easy to stay motivated and start loving it. Blessings, Jennifer

This happens to me frequently. It may also mean that the pounds are going to come down more rapidly soon. Sometimes I lose nothing for a while -- then my knees get thinner... then I lose 5 lbs, etc. It's so weird!

Thanks for the update. I'm glad you saw the dr. It is nice to know where Reunion is. There are so many places in metro Denver that have bad reputations but have little pockets of wonderful neighborhoods. My mom lives in Aurora (we want them to move but they love it). The first house we ever bought was in Montbello. We were on a wonderful street with great neighbors. I really liked it because it was so peacefully multi-cultural. Our street was only one block long but we had all ethnicities living there who all got along. It was great for the little kids. We even have some friends here on the Western Slope who used to live in Five Points and they had the same positive experiences on their street there as we did in Montebello. Didi 272/170 My dr. doesn't give a specific goal but the nut. said I should be between 150 and 175 so I guess I'm at goal.

You both were right. thank you for posting a reply and your concern. I am very grateful! p.s. Reunion is actually in the town of Commerce city. I am very very close to the DIA. I had an duedenal ulcer several years ago (pre RNY) and it was much like you describe. Please go see a doctor. I hope you feel better soon. Where the heck is Reunion? I'm a 6th generation Coloradoan and have never heard of it. Didi in Glade Park on the Western Slope
