EEEWWW Amy,
Yelling at you? You don't have to take that abuse! Is there another surgeon in his practice? There's no reason you have to stay with someone you don't like!
I'm not a bander, but had to jump in...

Hi there! I had the band on Nov. 18th. Just hit the 50lb mark last week. It's slow going! I actually lost about 25 lbs before surgery so have lost the other 25 post surgery. My surgeon yells at me at each visit. He really isn't a nice man. I hate going in to see him.

Roberta!
Congrats on the 50 lbs! We had surgery on the same day and I too just hit 50 lbs. I actually got yelled at by my surgeon cause I haven't lost more. I am so glad to see I am doing ok.

Topic: RE: no excuse exercise week 3
Hi all,
I go to the gym 4-5 times a week. I do 25-30 minutes on the treadmill with incline, 10 minutes on the bike, 6 min. on the upper body cycle, short times on the rowing machine and stepper plus weights. My trainer increases my time or my resistance every week or so.
I just started 3 new weight exercises tonight, so I will be sore tomorrow and unfortunately, tomorrow is my "off" day for working out due to the gym's hours and my child's specialists.
Trying to have minimal batwings here!

Topic: RE: HEY GUYS LOOKING FOR HELP WITH NEXT STAGE OF FOOD
I had my surgery on the 15th and was on regular food 3 weeks out. The only problem I've had is when I don't chew well enough or eat too fast. I have to beware of soft foods--eggs or fish for example--as I tend to forget to chew them as well! I live alone--so have a lot of leftovers, so I've moved away from grilling and baking and have gone with stews and such. I just weigh out the meat portion to get my proteins and then add a few veggies. I do wind up throwing away a lot of carrots and potatoes, but I want them in the pot to flavor the meat. (And my dog doesn't mind his share of veggies!) Stewing allows me to make use of a whole chicken instead of just the dark meat, but I have also used beef and lamb.
Breakfast is still a challege for me as I have never been a breakfast person, and I can only eat so many scrambled eggs. I try to make a breakfast casserole (with frozen hashbrowns instead of bread) to last the week. I don't use protein drinks very often--have only found a couple I can tolerate.
Hope this helps, and best of luck,
Sally
Topic: looking for Nov. bandsters
Hey, anyone out there a bandster who had surgery in Nov. 2005? I see posts from lots of RNY'ers, but no bansters. I'd love to see how we are doing thus far. Send a post.
