Hi Bethany, I want to thank you for your welcomed response. I wanted to let you know as well that I get that same sharp pain on my right side. It feels like you are being stabbed. (Very sharp and debilitating pain) I am going to see my doctor if this persists.

Ms. Austin says on her 10 minute arms*abs*hips* cd's that you should see some results within 3 weeks if you do it every other day. My arms look like turkeys... I hate them! I'm gonna try it for the next 3 weeks and see if she is right! Keep movin! Kim

I had my surgery on Nov. 15th and still prefer my meat in some kind of sauce for moisture. I live alone so I have a lot of leftovers and grilled anything simply doesn't reheat well! I make a lot of stews and gumbos. (If you brown the flour in the oven before using it, you don't have to have a lot of oil to get the taste of a roux!) If you like to cook, I'd suggest you try the Whole Foods grocery store website as they have a lot of great recipes--including nutrition information--that can work. I tend to freeze about half of any recipe, and have about two or three main meal options. This week I have beef stew, chicken and sausage gumbo, and a seafood stew all made to choose from. Then I also have a tuna or salmon salad ready as a lunch option. For the protein on the go, I have to say the only thing I've found in terms of supplements is the Protica drink. It is only 3 oz. but with 25grams of protein and 100 calories. You don't have to mix it with anything, so you can travel with it. I can't stand most protein drinks (they smell funny) so this one (and the Jay Robb brand) are the only ones I can get down. If you don't like to cook, you might try some of the frozen South Beach meals and just avoid the items that disagree with you. Best of luck, Sally

This has been happening for about week, and today its been pretty frequent..........its right about where my jeans waistline is............I wonder if its because Im not used to wearing jeans and they dig into me when I bend down.............. The pain is quick and takes my breath away...........I have my 3month appt in a couple of weeks...........but if this keeps up Im calling sooner. In the meantime perhaps I should put my sweats back on. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this??? thanks~ Bethany

Well... Yesterday I had a protein drink, Blueberry Bran muffin (home-made/recipe WLS friendly,) 1/2 Lean Cuisine meatloaf/mashed potatoes frozen dinner. Another protein drink in the afternoon, and home for chicken baked in a sauce with veggies. When I'm at home I eat more frequently, but when I'm working, especially on day like Tuesday, I just don't have time. That's why I added the afternoon protein drink. I don't always need that. Other ideas are: shrimp, scallops, talipia, salmon (all fast and easy to make) chicken (keep it moist or with a sauce,) turkey burgers w/cheese, shaved deli meat, hummus, chili, pizza made with 1/2 pita (sauce and lots of cheese,) spaghetti with meat sauce on whole wheat pasta, pot roast cooked until it's falling apart (make sure to eat with a little gravy for moisture,) omlets, chicken salad/ham salad/shrimp salad/crab salad. I also look for protein in EVERYTHING... I use Kashi's cooked cereal (9 g protein) and make it with 2/3 cup of skim milk, then add a couple of teaspoons of fresh/frozen blueberries and a packet of equal. Yummm and it has 15 g of protein between the cereal and milk! You could even boost it with some added whey powder. For even more ideas, google "WLS recipies" and you'll get LOTS of hits with good ideas. You can make almost anything WLS friendly. FYI: I spent a lot of time doing this right after surgery, so now I have lots of ideas whenever I'm bored! Good luck! Tammy

Welcome Dawn I post on the Virginia boards as well, but find that many of us on the Nov 2005 have mu*****ommon as we are at the same place of our journey. Also, there aren't as many postings, so its easier to keep up! Tammy 301/241/150 am of surgery/current/goal

Amy, I'd say GO FOR IT! What do you have to lose? Make an appointment and just meet him; tell him basically what's been going on, minus the yelling part. Make it seem like you are wanting to follow-up with the local surgeon for convenience. That way, since the local guy surely talks with the surgeon that did your surgery, there's no hard feeling. Good luck! Tammy
