Dear Carol, You might want to check out a couple of books that focus on the "head" aspects of weight loss. Stacy Halprin had gastric bypass and worried about weight gain. The Beck one is less about what method of weight loss you chose and more about changing your thinking--and therefore behaviors. The Beck Diet Solution: Train Your Brain to Think Like a Thin Person Winning After Losing: Keep Off the Weight You've Lost--Forever by Stacey Halprin Sally

Hi Carol, What about trying to eat raw vegtabels like carrots, celery or pickles. They are low in calories. I also eat fruit about 3-5 times per day since early on after surgery such as apples, bananas, oranages and strawberries and never had a problem. I alos snack on Dannon fit and trim yogurt and add my own cut up fruit and some granola. Cheese sticks, South Beach protein bars, protein drinks, applesauce or SF/FF pudding made on low fat or skim milk are some other options . You can also buy premade SF pudding that is also low calorie. There are many options. Mt surgeon suggests we eat every 3 1/2-4 hours. The tennis will be good as well because you should be burning fat as well as gaining muscle. With th muscle gain that should not show up on the scale for a while as long as your burning fat. Things will even out for you. Good Luck at your new job. Janet

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who posted replies. Each of you has helpful suggestions. I'm going to my PCP on Wed for blood work, etc. Hopefully she will find something I can easily fix or take care of. I'll let you all know. Thanks again for all your help and congrat's for your accomplishments and weight loss. Kimberly

I still have less energy than I thought I would. I admit that I was never high energy to begin with, but I thought with all the weight off that would change. I had plastic surgery at the end of Feb. and thought I'd never get my energy back. But, as much as I hate to say it--because I hate to exercise-I do have more energy when I start the day off with 30 min. of aerobic exercise. And I personally think the early daylight savings time was horrid for me. I need my burst of spring mornings to get me going. Best of luck and congratulations on your success. I have 8 more pounds to go to reach my goal by mid May. Sally 398/178/170

Hi I had lap. R. N.Y. on Nov. 17th, 2005. I am down a total of 216#'s I'm 20 pound's from my personal goal. I haven't lost anything in months now, ever since my last surgery to repair an internal Petersen hernia (rare, but dangerous). I don't think I will ever make it to my goal of 148#'s. Maybe when I get all of this extra skin removed. There's probably at least 20 #'s if not more lol. Take care, God bless, Annette

Hi Kimberly, I also get extremely tired. How's your Vitamin D? Mine is so low I have to take 50,000 I.U. My Dr. said to take it once a day, my surgeon, nutritionist, and everyone else says to take it once a week. and continue taking caltraite + D three times a day. Also how is your blood sugar levels? I have to check mine a few times a day now. I find when I get the most tired is when my blood sugar has dropped. I'm not saying this is what is wrong with you, but you may want to have it checked out. Take care. God bless, Annette

Topic: RE: Hysterectomy and not losing
I actually stopped losing before my hysterectomy, about 11 months post-op... I have been gaining and losing the same 5 lbs since. I had my hysto 6 weeks ago (they left one ovary) and I am hoping that I will get my energy level back and can start to exercise more.

Hi Valerie, For the last several months bouncing between 180 and 185. I started at 300lbs and my goal is 150. My GP said once I get to and maintain 165-170 I should consider my PS consult to get to goal because of the massive amounts of excess skin I have. I had lap RNY 11/15/05 :0) Janet
