I hope the photo shows up,
I have been on the weightloss roller coaster but not as high as before surgery.
I started my Journey at 240, my lowest I got down to 147. I took a long break from focusing on my weight like 3 years and I gained back up to 196, once the scale even made it back to 200.
I decided to make some drastic changes. First I went all Organic using coupons it's actually very affordable. then a year later I cut out meat. Now I am back down to 164!! I am working my way back to 147 and hopefully I will pass that and get down to 135 but I am taking it slowly.
In 2010 I became a Zumba Instuctor now I teach 8 classes a week, that definately helps keep the weight off!
Blessing on your Journey's everyone!

Topic: RE: Gaining weight and can't lose, Help!
I too am struggling. I have gained back 40 give or take my 5 pound monthly fluctuation. I go up a couple go down a couple go right back up again. I cannot gain any more weight, its hurting my body in more ways than one. My biggest problem is I sit working all day and into the evenings, have no time for exercise until weekends, and then I am so busy with catching up on all my other stuff, there is no time for me to take care of me. We eat late at night because that is when I can fix dinner. Im scared and dont want to go back there ever again, but its sneaking up on me.

I have gained back weight as well and was struggling to lose for about 3 years.
Recently a friend told me about Myfitnesspal.com So far I have lost 20 pounds since Jan. And I have been keeping it off.
I track what I eat using the food log feature. I keep my daily food intake to 1200 calories per day.
I do my best not to eat after 6pm.
I eat my heaviest meals during the day. At nighttime I have a palm size piece of fish or meat.
I have been kinda of lazy for the last 3 weeks and not working out as much, but I have not gained back the weight I have lost.
I hope this helps some of you.

This is a struggle I'm working on right now. The weight is fighting back tooth and nail! I'll lose two pounds, regain one; lose that one, regain two; and so forth. I have increased my exercise and can tell my clothes fit better, and even some things I couldn't wear, I can now.
I don't think there is a "keep it off" solution other than continual vigilance. Our fat cells are still in there screaming to be full again. Unless they are cut off or sucked out, they are ours for good. A regain of 10% of your loss is considered normal, so you may not be able to get all 30 lbs. off. You have better odds though if you are younger. Sorry.

Hey guys! I need some feedback and some ideas. I have gained back about 30 pounds in the past 3 years and can't seem to get any off. exercise...diets. What has everyone been doing to drop the weight and keep it off?

I got out of the habit of checking this board, but I am here as well. Amazing that it has been five years. I have gained about 22 lbs. so I am trying to get that off this year. My clothes were getting too tight. I'm doing Atkins induction right now and have already lost a couple of pounds.
Otherwise, I'm doing well in terms of my bloodwork (but need to get my protein up a bit more), so my overall health is better.
I'm having to remind myself that 22 lbs. is both important to get off, but at the same time, so much less than what I started with. So even with a bit of gain, I am still successful. And to be happy with small losses because that is now appropriate.
Good luck to everyone,
Sally

I have gained some weight back not all it. it really sucks that this is such a life time struggle even with the surgery. I trained for a half marathon last year I completed the marathon but I didn't lose a pound through out my training. I foound out I had an esopagel (sp) deletation basically my esophagus formed a new stomach above the band. it was my own fault I didn't go to my surgeon for 2 years.
fortunatly the damage doesn't require surgery, but I did have to get my band unfilled for about 6 months. I was so scared i was going to gain all my weight back, I think I cried for a week.
I have become a certified Zumba instructor and even though i workout 5 times a week plus rehearsals I have not lost a pound but I haven't gained. My surgeon says it's ok I am building muscle it will start to come off. but I can't wait. so I have decided to give b-12 shots another try. If I could move this 20 pounds that will not go away I might be able to get back on track. I sound like and addict. LOL
Well it's not all bad news. I am healthier because of all the excercise, the cellulite on the back of my legs is almost all gone. and my knees don't hurt anymore
so I am hanging in there!

Topic: Anybody still here?
Hi, just wondering if anyone still checks out this forum.
I'm having a problem with my diet-I know why, I had a small breakdown a couple of months ago, just lost it. Lots of stress in my life and it doesn't seem to be getting any better.
Anyway, I've got the munchies bad, I do alright during the day, but in the evenings and late at night, I can't quit eating.
I know what I need to do-I've gotten my pouch used to quite a bit of food, (at least it's quite a bit for me) I need to re-train it and get back to walking every day.
I just wanted to check in with people who understand what I've been through.
Hope you are all doing well.
Happy Labor Day.
Kimberly
