Is anyone in the november 2005 Surgery dates experience hair loss and what have you done to help restore your hair loss. I noticed that everytime I brush my hair there are hair in the brush.

Jasmine; Hey surgery sister! I've lost quite a bit of hair. I had really thick hair to begin with, so I've still got enough that only me and my hairdresser notice. Losing is pretty much inevitable, so I've upped my protein to help me not lose as much. A lot of people use biotin. I haven't tried it. I figure I'm pretty much done with the hair loss stage of WLS, but should I lose a large amount, I'll check into it. Blessings, Jennifer 253 / 178 / 137

Jasmine: Yes...most all of us November people are right here with you on the hair loss thing. In fact, I just said to my daughter yesterday that I need to take stock in Drain-O The drain in my bathroom tub/shower needs it at least once a week right now. I also had very thick LONG hair pre-op...I still have the length but not the thickness. I have decided not to cut my hair because nobody can tell I have lost a ton of hair...but I know it everytime I wash, brush, comb, or even run my fingers through it because I see it coming out. The good news is that this is usually temporary and will resolve around 6 months. We're almost to that mark so don't be sad...be gald it's almost over Tanya 329/244/healthy & happy

My hair loss started right at 4 months and hasn't let up yet. I'm hoping that next week when I hit the 6 month mark it will stop. I bought some expensive shampoo, conditioner, and hair treatment from my beautician but it didn't work. I've kept my protien and vitamins where they are supposed to be and the hair just continues to fall out. My hair is baby fine so it has never had any body but it was thick and now it is thin, thin, thin, Didi

Yes Jasmine, I have lost and continue to lose a lot of hair. It was also looking pretty limp and sad. I am not surprised as for the first three months I was pretty much continually nauseous and couldn't eat much of anything without throwing up. Now that is over, I'm doing great, and yesterday I got a perm and a trim. I love it. It looks so much better it's amazing. I really don't think we can do much besides eat a lot of protein, take our supplements, and wait it out. It will grow back, so I am told! Kath

Yes I have hair loss it started a 1.5 months ago. I am still losing some from the back of my head but the areas in the front that were thinning are starting to grow back already. So dont be scared. It comes back. I noticed most of my hair loss in the shower because the strands are as long as the hair on my head. My hair along my temples thinned but nothing scary, it was noticable to me and a few people that see me everyday but my husband didnt think it was bad. As I said before it got to thin it is growing again. Make sure your bodyhas its protein and the shock of the surgery ( hair loss) wont be very long. Amy 304/230/185

Yes, I have lost lost of hair. I am 6 months post op and I started losing about 2 months ago. I bought a plastic drain thing from walmart that catches all the hair that falls. AFter the shower, you just take out the hair and throw it. I have no problem with clogged drains. I have noticed that my hair is starting to grow back. I am not losing as much hair now. Thank-goodness.. will all the hairloss, i was surprised i still had hair on my head.
