Does this sound about right?
Hello
I added up my lost for each month and this is my results I wanted to know if I am slow loser.
Nov 15th (surgery day to end of nov) 27 pounds
Dec 16
Jan 19
Feb 15
Mar 15
April Only 7 so far
I think that is why I am bummed I only lost 7 this month and I feel I am trying sooo hard. It was a eye opener i thought it was 20 each month but I forgot the big water weight loss from 2 weeks.
Thank you
Angel

Angel;
Have you changed how you're eating in April? The slower weight loss this month could be just your body taking a break, or if you've let your eating habits slide a little bit, it could be because of that.
Are you still losing inches even though you're not seeing the scale move?
Blessings,
Jennifer

Dear Angel,
I wouldn't consider you a slow losser at all--100 lbs. in just a bit over five months. I had surgery on Nov. 15th as well and weighed more than you. I lost more the first month but then 15, 12, 16, and 16 since. My doctor seems very pleased. I was told to expect it to slow down anytime now.
Keep up the good work,
Sally
Sounds like your doing great! I on average only lose 6-7 lbs a month and this month I have kicked up the exercise from 2 days to 4. Been cheating with easter candy (wi*****reased my calorie intake) and this month I lost 10 lbs and 4 inches. the most I have lost since the first month of surg. I dont recommend the chocolate though because now its like I am addicted again. and i so dont want to go there again. its going in the garbadge when my son goes to sleep. ugh!

Stephanie...see if there is a Ladies Workout Express or Curves near you. It only takes 30 minutes for the workout...1/2 machines and 1/2 stations where you walk, run in place...whatever and perhaps use small weights to help the upper wings that will inevitably sprout from our arms! I am a member of LWE and it is only $29.99 a month...and NO men...so you don't feel intimidated by those little cutsies (which we will be in a year) exercising in their halter tops and spandex pants!!!! I go from work...usually wear pants to work so don't even change clothes when I get there, so that cuts down on the time also. (You can go home and take a shower!) Maybe we should start a post everyday..."what did you do for exercise today"!!!! Walking is going to be nice now since the harsh New England winters are starting to be a memory! If you don't have a dog....get one! You will be forced to walk the dog...and you will both love it! Barbara
Well Steph, I guess in a year or so other people will be looking at us coming out of the gym and saying, "Look at all the skinny people."
I joined a new community center so its not like Gold's Gym or 24 Fitness or anything like that. These are middle aged people mostly or families that go there just to work out or swim and things. No one is there checking each other out and making plans to hook up or anything.
There are lots of overweight people there. And no mirrors all over the place to make look at yourself all the time. I know they are there for a real purpose (making sure your form is right but UUUUGGGGHHHHH! So anyhoo, I'm comfortable there. Just need to do it!
I really think I'm gonna try that walking plan in the Family Circle it was very unintimidating.
Good Luck,
Jen
Hi Angel,
It looks like you are doing very well to me. We are getting to the end of our 6 month window of opportunity now. The weight loss is supposed to slow down. I have been losing between 16 and 20 pounds a month. This month I have lost 11 pounds so far. I have really kicked up the exercise though. I joined Bally's, What a workout! I love it. I just hope the weight loss does'nt slow down too much. LOL
God bless you,
Annette
Here are a couple of ideas:
Crustless Quiche Lorraine
2 cups half and half
3 eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon chives
1/4 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
1/2 cup Swiss cheese, grated
Sprinkle bacon and cheese in the pan. Scald half and half and cool slightly. Beat eggs, salt pepper, nutmeg and chives. Pour into pan. Bake in a 350-degree oven for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool 10 minutes.
*** Could use Turkey or Canadian bacon if you wanted to go healthier.
----------------------------------------------
6 slices bacon
1 onion, chopped
3 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cups milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Remove bacon from pan, crumble and set aside. Reserve 2 tablespoons bacon grease in skillet. Cook onion in reserved drippings until tender; drain and set aside.
In a large bowl, mix together eggs, milk and salt. Stir in bacon and onion. In a separate bowl, toss cheese and flour together. Add cheese to egg mixture; stir well. Pour mixture into pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until knife inserted into center comes out clean. Let quiche cool for 10 minutes before serving.
