Does anybody besides me NOT dump? I can eat sugar or fried foods with no problem.

Janet; I can eat some fried foods without a problem. Sugar is a problem for me though. Blessings, Jennifer 253 / 184 / ???

I can eat both without dumping, but the fried foods don't sit well (I haven't tried much though, so I'm not sure if there is something that will make me dump!). A lady in my support group had surgery 6 months ago, and she dumped for the first time 2 weeks ago when she had a bite of a birthday cake! So it still may come...

I think that I will just keep thinking that sugar will make me dump, and not test it. I am afraid that I will get into too many old bad habits. I do dump if I eat too fast, another old bad habit, or too much.

I haven't eaten anything that could cause me to dump. I'm SO scared to experience it. Someday I know I'll end up trying sugar, but for now, I have no plans to. I haven't really tried any fatty foods. I guess I once did have a bite of fried chicken (small bite) but I'd eaten some string cheese and it was only one bite, so it didn't affect me.

Janet I can have very small amounts of sugar but I only really want something sweet during PMS time. I have only tried 2 french fries (in the way of fried foods) and they went down ok...but pouch gave me a "WARNING" so I didn't eat anything more than that. I have not dumped at all...but I get warnings every now and then to remind me not to eat something I shouldn't be eating. I'm not a "perfect" patient but I know I do much better than before surgery. I'm just being honest to mayself and others...no flaming please from the "perfect WLS patients" LOL. I don't care what YOU think! Tanya Lap RNY 11/17/05 328/254/???

I have not dumped on anything. I wish that I had. I don't have that particular behavior modification tool. Sheila

I do not dump, either. I have had both sugar and fried foods. It is a blessing and a curse... I can have a bite of cake and ice crem at a birthday party, which is nice.... but it takes a lot of will power to stay away from the boxes of candies that get left on the lunchroom table at work. (I have remained faithful for the most part, though)

I have just had my first dumping experience today. It wasnt bad I got light headed and queasy and felt foggy head like when you have had a few drinks. But other than that fine. I had a Blue bunny low carb ice cream today. And dumped on the fat the sugar was lower than my protein bars so i know it wasnt that. I have only a few small things of fried foods adn havent had any problems except a once I was queasy after it. But all in all my foods are usually chicken deli slice with swiss cheese, roasted red pepper and pesto making a roll up that weights 3 onces. That is usually my lunch adn if I am still not full feeling I just pop a few blue diamond almonds at the end. It is norm for me or I have a luna bar. Amy 304/232/185
