Embarassing question
OK, so this is kinda personal. I've always had an incontinence issue (i'm only 27) and figured it's partly due to genetics, and partly due to my large size. However, since surgery it's gotten SO much worse. I don't even know I have to pee, then all of a sudden, it hits me and I need to find a bathroom THAT INSTANT! God forbid I have to walk a ways to get there, or laugh or trip or sneeze or cough or hiccup. I have to remind myself to go to the bathroom to prevent a bad situation. Has anyone else experienced this??? I have a couple theories: Could the cathater have done something when I had surgery almost 4 months ago? Or maybe it's 'cuz i'm not drinking enough and my urine is highly concentrated and causing this? Either way, let me know your thoughts and experiences.
I'm female, 31, no kids, and thankfully, have never had this problem, although prior to surgery I did get the "gotta pee" rush. And now, I'm guessing it's because I don't drink as much now as I did before surgery, but I don't pee as much as before, so I rarely feel like I have to really go.
This is a big thing- don't be afraid to talk to your Dr. about it, especially since you're still so young, and especially if you haven't had kids. Maybe there's an underlying cause?
Angela;
I haven't experienced it, but I did have a friend who had problems post-op and they determined it was from her catheter. Talk to your doctor.
I doubt it has any thing to do with the concentration of your urine, but I can understand why you're not drinking enough if this is a constant problem.
Call your doctor and get an appointment.
Blessings,
Jennifer

I started with incontinencer after the birtyh of my second son... 1991. It started with snezing, coughing.. then became the "gotta pee NOW!" And forget about going outside in the cold or sticking my hands in warm water...insta-pee..lol
I mentioned this to my OB/GYN at my annual appointment and he checked me.. I had a uterine prolapse.. it was lying on my bladder. I had a hysterectomy in 2000. That pretty well took care of it for me until just the past few months. I think that I just have weaker than usual muscles. I do Kegal exercises to strengthen that area.
I suggest talking to your docs. I did take one of the meds for it... but I don't remember the name of it. It did work pretty well. But the final solution was surgery. Hope this helps.. Jacki K from PA
