Anybody else stall for a full month yet?
OK, ok, I'm trying to keep my patience and optimism up, but....you know the story.
I've been stalled at between 50 and 55 pounds for 'forever'. 34 first month, about 12 second month, then 8 or so, and now in nothing in like a month! Relevant facts:
1) 'Could' be drinking more fluids, I know, but pretty sure I'm getting at least the minimum
2) per fitday.com, averaging around 90 - 95 grams protein per day
3) taking all vitamins, but iron tested low - about to start prescription
4) exercising 40 - 90 mins 5 days/week, including 60-90 mins with strength training at gym 3 days/week. (I know there is that old thing about muscle vs. fat, but....c'mon!)
5) seem to have lost maybe 3/4" in hips, but that's about it
Someone besides my barix please remind me that this can be normal????!!!
(Or give tips - I've got the plateau-buster info, but don't want to go that route this 'soon' - I don't think.)
Hi Samantha,
I really don't have too much advice but I can say I am doing the same thing so you are not alone. I too have been on a stall for a month and i am depressed about it. They keep telling me to lose the most weight in the first 6 months becasue after the 6 months it slows down so much it scares me to think i only have less than 2 months to lose more weight then i am going to have to fight the rest off hard. I don't know if it is entirely tru but it makes me try harder. I have lost 89 pounds 20 a month then I only lost 10 last month. I wanted to lose 120 in 6 months but it may not happen. I am trying to think about the fact I feel much better and look better so I came a long way. They explain plateaus is your body cathching up on the weight loss and to hang in there the scale will move again.
Your not alone

Samantha;
I had a three week stall around -55 lbs. I think after losing that much weight so fast, our bodies just need to adjust for a few weeks. Increase your water, that will help.
Also, your protein is good, are you maybe eating too many carbs? You didn't say what your carb count is averaging.
Blessings,
Jennifer

I had an 8 week stall. Just finally coming out of it. Surgery was 11/7/05, did great thru Christmas, then nothing until the first week of March when I was down 12 lbs. The only thing I did was increase my water ****il I feel like I'm floating away....) and increase the exercise. I hope that doesn't happen again real soon, it is depressing.
Total loss now is 70 lbs. since surgery, 84 total. We couldn't have done that without the surgery, and hopefully it will continue on the downward spiral!
At one month out I hit a six week stall. I didn't lose an ounce or an inch. On the seventh week I lost 4 pounds, and have been losing ever since. I know it's hard but try not to get discouraged. How often do you weigh yourself? During this time the scale is not your friend. Only vist "her" one time every 2 weeks was what a very caring nurse told me. Hope things start moving for you soon.
God bless you,
Annette
I'm at a stall as well. If I understand it right, a plateau happens at a weight that you might have been at for some time in your past. That would be about right. I was this size for a while in my past.
I'm trying to up my protein and fluids hoping it will bust that plateau!
Good luck everyone!
Nancy
