Hi surgery-date-sister! 67 pounds is great! Everybody loses at a different rate, but that seems to be right in range, especially with your early complications. Just be happy that you are now no longer in obese weight range but merely overweight! Walking every day is a great idea. My surgeon was most insistent that we should walk daily if we could, about 45 minutes a day. Don't worry about putting on muscles. We should welcome *some* muscle. Although they weight more than fat, they also burn up a lot more calories so will actually help weight loss. It's not like we're going to end up like a weightlifter by walking daily! In fact, you might want to add a strength training activity a couple of times a week that will build muscle to add to your walking. Relax and just think of all that you've accomplished. You've lost 67 pounds for ever. You're getting exercise. I bet you've lost plenty of inches! All in less than 4 months. Concentrate on the good. You are not a failure Helen

Thank u so much Helen. I actually like walking now. I am also my own worse critic. I do feel so much better. I am going to try and stop dwelling on things and concentrate on my last 36 pounds!!!!!!!!!

Stephanie, You are doing AWESOME!! My surgery date was 11/7/05 and I am down approximately 60 lbs. One of my biggest problems is getting on the scale too often, and getting in all the protein and water. I had a month long plateau and now the scale is moving again. Hang in there, everyone loses at a different pace. Congrats on your loss! DianeC

I know how you feel, I had my surgery 11/15 and I have only lost about 45 lbs since surgery. I exercise daily, eat right, get plenty of protien, and eat very little fat or carbs. It kills me to see others who are 70 or more lbs down already, I am EXTREMELY happy for them, but it *really* brings me down. I keep being reminded that I lost 30lbs pre-op, and that my surgeon's post-op diet is far more progressive than most. My nutritionist assures me that even though my short-term weight loss is not as much as others, my long term will be the same. But it is frustrating. Sorry I don't have any miracle advice, but I hope it helps to know you aren't alone! **hugs** Janet 300/270/225/150
