Anyone else taller?
I've been noticing the last few weeks that I've been feeling taller. And then in some of the profiles I've read, people have commented that they grew a 1/2" or an inch post-op.
This morning, I decided to measure myself. I'm nearly 2" taller than I was pre-op! When he wakes up, I'm gonna have my hubby remeasure me to make sure I didn't skew anything, but I'm stunned.
Anyway, my new found height has lower my BMI by 2.2! I'm just stunned. I guess this is even better than being on a stall and losing inches!
Blessings,
Jennifer

Sarah;
I've heard that because one doesn't have as much weight pulling down on the spine, it is not as compressed and therefore, you can become taller after WLS. There's several people that I've read in their profiles that they'd gotten taller post-op although most of them were .5"-1". Nearly 2" seems like a lot, so I wonder if I just wasn't being measured correctly before? Plus, the last time my height was measured was probably 10 years ago.
I don't know about women, but men can grow well into their mid-20s. My husband was 23 and 6'3.5" when we married. By the time our first anniversary rolled around he was 6'5". His late growth was all in his legs as his inseam went from a 32" to a 34" in that time period.
Blessings,
Jennifer
Hi Jennifer,
My weight caused compression of my spine, which caused me to shrink pre-op. My P.C.P. told me that when I lose the weight I may regain my height. So far I've only gotten shorter. I think I'm losing the fat off the bottoms of my feet, and it's causing me to shrink even more...NNNOOOOO....lol
God bless you,
Annette
