looking for Nov. bandsters

Hey, anyone out there a bandster who had surgery in Nov. 2005? I see posts from lots of RNY'ers, but no bansters. I'd love to see how we are doing thus far. Send a post.

Hi there! I had the band on Nov. 18th. Just hit the 50lb mark last week. It's slow going! I actually lost about 25 lbs before surgery so have lost the other 25 post surgery. My surgeon yells at me at each visit. He really isn't a nice man. I hate going in to see him. Amy

EEEWWW Amy, Yelling at you? You don't have to take that abuse! Is there another surgeon in his practice? There's no reason you have to stay with someone you don't like! I'm not a bander, but had to jump in...

I wish there was another surgeon in his practice. He is the only one. I had a very difficult time finding a doctor because I wanted the lap band. The only surgeon who performs wls in my hometown only does rny and I didn't want that type. I had to go to Memphis, TN. Actually my first doctor was in Little Rock, AR but there was a problem with the hospital and the insurance company so I had to go to the one I have now. Since I had surgery the local surgeon has been trained in lapband (by none other than my surgeon from Memphis!) and I have been thinking of calling to see if this doctor can take me on instead of me having to put up with this guy. Amy, I'd say GO FOR IT! What do you have to lose? Make an appointment and just meet him; tell him basically what's been going on, minus the yelling part. Make it seem like you are wanting to follow-up with the local surgeon for convenience. That way, since the local guy surely talks with the surgeon that did your surgery, there's no hard feeling.
