Anyone else dizzy?

First I want to say how much this website and particularly this message board have helped me through my WLS journey. Thanks so much to everyone!!!! For the past week or 10 days, I get dizzy only when I lay down. For a couple of sickening minutes, my head swims and spins right after I lay down. Doesn't seem to matter what time of day or if my eyes are open or not. Then the dizziness stops and everything is fine. I haven't noticed any dizziness any other time of day, or type of movement. Not even when doing my exercises or walking. Any thoughts on why this might be happening? I'm going to my surgeon for my three month checkup tomorrow and I hope I'll remember to ask him, but I wanted to ask you all. Thanks again for all the help in the past and keep up the good work. I was having the same problem but only during the week of my period. The last time I had it, I checked with the Dr. who ok'd some extra iron during that week and it didn't bother me anymore. Courtne 11 weeks out - 53 lbs

I also get dizzy when bending down and then straightening up too fast. I have heard it could be due to dehydration and I know I'm probably not getting enough water. Haven't asked my doctor though. If you find out something more when you ask, please post it!! I had my 3 mo appt on Wednesday and I'm down 50 pounds! --Dana

It could be hypoglycemia which is common for WLS patients.

When I was maybe 4 weeks post-op I was so dizzy I couldn;t even stand up. I spent two days in the hospital and it was all from being dehydrated. Who knew that being dehydrated could mess your body up that bad Drink* Drink*Drink* then make sure you drink some more! Kim

I was dizzy too for the first month or so but it went away and i also noticed that the prescriptions the doc gave me after the surgery had a side effect of dizziness so im guessing that is what is was for me. So you might want to check your prescriptions if your taking any right now. T.J.

I get dizzy from time to time. Mostly when I bend down and stand up. But I also get a fever when I lay down. I haven't taken my temp but my face gets flushed. Anyone else? Janna
