11/18/05 folks update!
Hi Roberta,
I celebrate every pound and inch!! I lost fairly fast at first and then the weight loss slowed to a snail's pace, but I started "feeling" smaller as my clothes were getting bigger and bigger. Just about every day I have to take another item of clothing and put it into the "too big" pile.
I've never been a big fan of eggs to begin with, but I haven't had trouble with them the few times I've eaten them. I got chicken stuck once... yuck! and another time I had pork chops that were a little dry and they made me feel very uncomfortable. Lesson there was no dry meat and chew throughly!
My main problem has been eating enough, getting enough protein on a regular basis, and drinking enough liquid. Sometimes I just don't feel like eating, and I think that had a lot to do with my slow down of weight loss. That, and I understand from people farther out on this journey that it is common for us to lose weight and then for our bodies to "adjust" in size. Also, some days I do great with the protein, and others, I just don't feel like eating meat or drinking the drink, so I ignore it. Bad, bad, I know.
Happy Valentine's Day to everyone
Hugs,
Tammy
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY TO YOU, TOO, ROBERTA!!!
I am doing pretty well, although I do seem to be in a "food rut". I eat basically the same foods everyday. I also eat a lot of cheese, which I'm sure isn't that great for me. However, I was never a big meat eater prior to surgery, so opting for meats has been difficult for me. Since I haven't had a problem when I do eat chicken, I probably should eat more of it. I do usually manage to get in my daily required protein and fluid amounts, so that part is good. I weighed myself at a friend's home on Super Bowl Sunday, and I was down 55 lbs.....yahooooooo!!!! My husband and I will be going to visit hometown friends this coming week-end, and I hope by then, that I have reached the 60 lb. mark (fingers crossed!!). Course, our friends wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a drop of 55 or 60 lbs, but it is something psychological for me!! I have also gone down several sizes, so that is the really good part......well, for the most part, anyways. Last week, my husband and I both removed our coats in the car, and when we got to where we were going, I reached back and put on a coat. My husband said he didn't need one. Anyway, after about 20 minutes, it all of a sudden dawned on me, that "my" black coat didn't come down to my calves the way this coat did.......yup, I was wearing my husband's big ol' coat!!! Of course, it cracked me up!! BUT......so many of my clothes are now swimming on me, that I really never noticed that my husband's coat wasn't mine.....it was just one more big ol' piece of clothing!! From now on, though, I am going to make sure that I wear only MY big clothes and not my husband's!!!
Continued good luck to you........
