HI, all! I've been stalled between 56-59 lbs. lost for the past 3 weeks or more. On Jan. 2nd, I was 290 and today I was 285. That's 5 lbs. in 4 weeks--I'd call that a plateau!!! So tomorrow, I'm officially starting the Plateau Buster Diet. I'll be on it until Feb. 1st. I love doing things in groups and getting to know people through our shared experience, SOOO... Would anyone like to join me on my Plateau Buster Diet? Let me know! Here's the diet: Plateau Buster Diet (Or...How to break a plateau) #1 - Do this for 10 days to break a plateau #2 - Drink 2 quarts of water a day #3 - You must have 45 grams of protein supplement and all your vitamins/minerals supplements each day #4 - You may consume up to 3 oz of the following high protein foods, 5x a day beef pork chicken turkey lamb fish eggs low fat cheese cottage cheese plain s/f yogurt peanut butter beans/legumes You may also have: sugar free popsicles tea or coffee sugar free soda sugar free jello broths/bullion (sp?) crystal light drinks #5 - If it's not on the list, you can't have it for 10 days!!!! #6 - Keep a food diary and try to get up to 30 mins of exercise daily In addition to the Plateau Buster, change your exercise plan as well. Such as if you are walking, join Curves, if you are a Curves member, do walking on days that you don't do Curves. If you are a member of Curves, join a gym or buy free weights and alternate between Curves and the gym or free weights for 5 days a week.

Hi, I have also been on a plateau. Mine has lasted for 5 weeks now with no weight loss at all. My nutritionist looked at my food journal then increased my calories to 900/day, increased my carbs to 100/day, and increased my protein intake up to at least 90/day. I am going to post 2 articles having to do with plateaus. The one is long, but they both contain some very good information. I got them from someone in the support group at my hospital. Hope they can be of some help to you, or to anyone going through this. God bless you, Annette

I guess they're both long, but worth reading. God bless you, Annette

Looks like there is a pattern here...notice our surgery dates??? I have been stuck between 244-248 for 2 weeks....(PMS during that time too).......I gagged down protein drinks(they make me VERY nauseated)......and am walking on the tredmill thingy...also I think I have only been eating 2 times a day.......and I think I should eat very small 'mini meals' and keep from going into starvation mode......I am watching for hairloss...but not yet(dreading)...my hair is already baby fine.....so......I am on board with the plat buster...look foreward to seeing yall's posts........ huggs kristi
