Hair Loss - Help

I'm almost 10 weeks post-op and starting to see significant hair loss. I am starting to freak out. Any suggestions or thoughts? I didn't expect to see this for a few more months. Should I be worried about the timing? I'm trying really hard to get in more protein but it is a major struggle. Any advice would be appreciated.

some say biotin is good for the hair and nails but I dont know if it may be late. Would you say your hair is falling out or breaking off? I am a hairstylist and In Beauty school we were taught that to much protein Ie Infusium would cause breakage in your hair I wonder if our high amounts of protein are actually part of the problem. I have no facts to back this up. Mine has not started falling out or breaking off yet they say it starts about 3 mos. Im 2 mos out. try the biotin and just handle your hair with care. use a wide tooth comb instead of a brush on wet hair. Dry hair is less fragile then wet. Hope this helps

Biotin is a suppliment Im not sure but it think it needs to be at least 1000mg? as for a shampoo there is nioxin however I have found that the 3rd phase of the product (the name has passed my brain right now) Not the shampoo or the cond but the 3rd portion is what makes your hair grow. the shampoo and cond just clean the scalp to prepare it for the 3rd product. Thanks for the comments. My hair seems to be falling out not breaking off. I'll give the Biotin a try though - that sounds like a good plan.

I've also heard that flax seed helps. You can get it at a health store already ground and add to your food.

I am 7-8 weeks out and no loss yet, I am using nioxin shampoo to help prevent the loss. Sally's Beauty Supply has a nock off of it....shampoo and other products for thinning hair and chemo patients. Stephanie 276/234/???

I had the same problem and had to increase my protien, I started adding a scoop of flavorless whey protien to one of my drinks per day. It add 17grams of protien and it was easy to add (I am eating everything I should per my nutritionist and honestly couldn't add any more food to my diet) If I miss the extra scoop one day I end up losing more hair the next.
