Hello everyone. I am almost at the 2 month mark and doing ok. Except this morning I thought a cup of milk with 1 tbsp of herseys syrup would be a good source of protein. Well that was at 8 this morning and its now noon and I feel like there is lead in my pouch and could just throw up! Anyone else felt like this. What helps take the feeling away. I am afraid to drink anything because i dont want to throw up. but I need to get the rest of my daily stuff in! ughh

Was the Hershey's syrup sugar free? I drink two 8 oz. glasses of milk daily to get my protein in and haven't had any problems. I'm two months out, by the way. But I have read that many people develop a lactose intolerance, so you need to consider that as well as the sugar. Best of luck, Sally

Now its 4:30 and I still feel like crap! No it was not sugar free however 1 tbs is half the serving size and it would be under the 15 g of carb I am supposed to stay under. The last time I felt this way my outlet was blocked from a peice of chicken. but there is nothing in the milk to block my outlet. Unless its something from last nigts dinner. However I drank plenty of water between dinner and this morning. I dont know I just want to feel better. uggh

I don't have any problems with fat free skim milk. I don't have the courage to try any kind of syrup in it though. Some people do develop an allergy to milk around 8 weeks post-op. try it again without the syrup. If it still makes you sick try Lactaid. Lactaid has a high amount of sugar listed on the nutrition panel, but my nutritoinist said its milk sugars, and doesn't count as sugar. Hope this helps God bless you, Annette

I personally can handle skim milk rather well however, the protein shakes that are milk based are horrible for me to get down (ie. matrix choc and vanilla). I have done far better with water mixed with nectar (kiwi strawberry is my fav). Stephanie down 40 in 7 weeks post

Oh...BTW recipe for hot chocolate 6-8 ounces skim 1 Tbsp cocoa powder 1 package of SF sweetener protein= 9 grams I heat milk in microwave while dissolving powder in 1 ounce of milk, pour heated milk in while stirring and it will keep powder from clumping up. Stephanie

Yes I can not drink it! Makes me feel like crap! I do throw it up. Before surgery I could drink whole milk. But now I can not. I can not drink any form!

Yup, milk makes me feel yucky. I'm glad though because you get more sugar from milk than you do protein, so it's just not worth it to me anyway. When I want hot cocoa, I just add 1.5 scoops of chocolate Champion Whey Protein Stack to ho****er, and it's absolutely delicious. Made with cold water it's awesome "chocolate milk" and it's 34 grams of protein to boot! ~ Kim 309/260/130
