Amazing!
I live in the middle of no where. But I met someone else on the November 2005 board who lives in a town in the next state probably 60 - 100 miles away which makes her a neighbor. Today I had my first appointment with my rheumatalogist (sp?) since my RNY surgery and so the receptionist (who is also the dr.'s wife) was saying how good I looked and asking how much I lost. There was a couple also sitting in the waiting room and the woman jumped up and hugged me. She turned out to be Kimberly who I had been corresponding with since we both seem to live so far off the beaten path and other WLS folks are few and far between out here. The rheumatologist's office is in Grand Junction and is the closest to both of us. She had her WLS in Salt Lake City and I had mine in Denver and GJ is centered about 250 miles away from either one. It was amazing. Kimberly is a beautiful and wonderful person. Thanks to OH for helping us find support from others who are going through what we are.
Didi
Yes, Didi, it was totally amazing!
As Didi said, we really did meet at the Dr's office completely by accident. I had thought about calling her to say I would be in GJ that day, but well you know, just never picked up the phone. I guess we were supposed to be there at the same time.
I don't attend a support group, everything is too far away, especially during the winter travel months, so it is wonderful to have this forum and website. I have found answers to so many questions I've had and found support even when I haven't posted.
I can only echo Didi in saying thanks to OH
