How much can you eat?

I usually eat three meals, and have probably two snacks each day. And, if I am not running around (and forgetting), I am able to drink 30-45 minutes after eating, without a problem. Eating or drinking less, has me struggling to get all my protein and liquid requirements in, so I try to adhere to this schedule. And, in the past week or so, I have felt my energy levels definitely go up, too......except when I skip a meal or snack. *Kam*

Annette......Today has been a bad day for me. After 10 oz. of mint tea, I began my eating with 3/4 of a Power Crunch Bar (first try) and I felt sick for several hours afterwards (it wasn't dumping, but I felt sick to my stomach). That sort of threw me off for the rest of the day. But generally, I begin my day with 1/4-1/2 cup of cream of wheat with a scoop of Unjury in it. Then I'll have a string cheese for a snack....I sometimes add a slice or two of apple, too. For my late lunch I will have either 2oz of refried beans with 1 oz of shredded cheddar melted in them, or 2oz of mashed potatoes with two small pieces of chicken (2 oz). For dinners, I have 2 oz of chicken or flakey fish, and an ounce of beans or 1-2 oz of potatoes.....and maybe a tiny bite of some veges. For my evening snack, I usually have SF fudgicles and/or popsicles or maybe another string cheese. If I ever feel that I haven't gotten enough protein in, then I will have some cream of chicken soup with another scoop of protein in it (that's what I am having tonight, due to my rough start to my day). I do try to go over 60 grams of protein each day, and I think that has helped me get my energy back. Drinking is not a problem for me.....I drink water, decaf tea, or Crystal Light all day long. Hope this helps, and I hope everything is okay with you. Having a scope to be sure, probably is not a bad idea. Good luck and let us know how you make out. *Kam*

Hi Bethany, Are you only eating soup, and the toasted pita's w/dip? How much soup at a time, and how long does it take to eat it? I can't drink that soon after eating or it feels like I'm going to explode. There's been a couple of time's when I've had to wait as long as 3 hr's. before drinking. God bless you, Annette

I don't weigh my servings, maybe I should start. I sometimes can eat 1/2 baked potato with 1/2 the chili on it from Wendy's, but this morning I couldn't finish my oatmeal packet. I can tell you I eat more than your twice a day! Go****hink I eat about every 2-3 hours but sometimes just a couple bites. Michele

Hi Michele, How are you? It seem's like everyone can eat more than me. I was just trying to see if I should follow through and get scoped tomorrow or not. I think I'll go in and talk to the Dr. before he does it, to see if I really need it or not. I don't want to go through that if I don't have to. God bless you, Annette

I eat about 4 times a day. My surgeon is VERY South Beach Diet!! No carbs, and low fat. She says most of the food I eat should be protein, protein, protein and only a SMALL amount of carbs, so I try to stay away from the potatoes, etc. I eat a lot of deli meat. Turkey. I like the variety packages - for one, they provide variety and second, they have water added, and are very moist. Now, I can eat 2 pieces with 1/2 slice of cheese each. Roll it up, chew it well, and I can usually drink within 1/2 hour, although I've been known to sneak a sip here and there before then (I just get SO thirsty!). I usually get hungry every 3 hours or so. Good luck!

Hi Dawn, Mine too. Water first then protein, protein, protein. Then if you're able to veggies. Mine also says 3 meals a day, no snacking in between. No snacking because we are trying to develope new habbits, and the only way to defeat this procedure is by grazing~ that's what snacking leads to grazing. Thank you for your reply. God bless you, Annette
