Hi Bethany, You know what, I didn't even think of the emotional side of this. Like you, I feel my inner strength has increased. I know I can do anything I want by myself. I'm glad you got your confidence back, so you can move forward in life without fear.

Wonderful question! I am 4 1/2 weeks out and things in my life are changing already! As of last week I am down 34 pounds. Went from a size 28 to a 22/24 and I feel great! I am already more outgoing and because of that, people are noticing me more, and speaking to me all of the time. I can't keep a smile off of my face!!! Blessings ~Tonya P.S. For Christmas I got a digital camera and I took a head shot of myself. My face looks so much smaller then it was and my skin is clearing up! It is on my pix trail www.picturetrail.com/tawnyrose

Not a crazy question at all! I have only lost 24 lbs but the biggest change is in how my clothing fit. I can see the difference each week even when I hit a losing stall. I can now run the steps after my daughter, carry laundry and not be out of breath, and get up and down off of the floor much easier. I no longer have knee pain, and my plantar facitis (or however you spell it) seems to be nearly gone. Also today at my daughter's orthodontist appointment, I could sit in the waiting room chair and fit reasonably and not feel uncomfortable with the arms of the chair digging into my hips. The other change that I need to make a conscious effort to relearn is how much to cook...I cook healthy, but it's easy to make too much for the family now that I don't eat as much. Leftovers aren't big here, so many times food goes in the garbage. Old habits die hard I guess. Christine

Christine, you are doing great. Everybody loses at a different rate, so don't focus too much on the 24 lbs. Let you're clothes tell you how you're doing. When I go to the hair salon, I notice that I'm fitting better into the chair each time. That's the greatest feeling. What's a plantar facitis? Please educate me on that.

It's pain on the bottoms of your feet from the muscles (or tendons?) contracting and not being able to stretch after periods of sitting or lying down. I used to wake in the morning and have to stretch for 20 minutes before I could put any weight on my feet. I would also have horrible pain each evening from being on my feet all day. I have worn sneakers daily for almost a year to avoid foot and knee pain. Since losing some weight, I don't have morning foot pain anymore, and I can wear "normal" shoes all day long with minimal discomfort. That's a good change for me that's for sure! Congratulations on the hair salon chair...I know that's a GREAT feeling! I was very excited to realize my rear fits better in my car too now! ;) Christine (24 lbs down = 20% excess weight lost!)

you know I'm always late with stuff like this, but A few things have changed with me. I went out to a party friday night and a few months ago you could not get me near one. I still dont like clubbin but just wanted to get out the house. I also can fit in the salon chair much easier and I dont hear it creaking when I sit in it. When I went shopping with my mother on Christmas Eve I did not get tired and I can tolerate her much better. I was real grouchy pre-op because I was not happy with myself. I can get in and out of my truck much easier now. I did wear my high heeled boots all night friday. I'll be glad when I can wear knee high boots. Anyway there are other minor things that I miss doing that I can know do.. I have 6 mor pounds until my first mini goal. reneka

I have so much more energy Last nite while I was being a diva myself and soaking in the bathtub I noticed that my tummy seems kinda smaller... that was a great feeling! Here is to a great 2006! Kim

This is a great question, one that makes you evaluate your world! My life has changed dramatically since my 11/29 surgery. I am wearing clothes I haven't been able to wear in years, my confidence has increased dramatically, I am so PROUD of myself (a feeling i've never experienced before), and the best part is, my relationship with my boyfriend is better (and healthier) than ever. We work out at the gym together 5 times a week, and he is counting calories while I'm counting protein! Before, a typical weeknight for us would be sitting in front of the TV watching some dumb show while downing a Tony's pizza. I'm also motiving others to lose weight (my mom and a coworker have all been inspired by my loss) and life is just so much more positive now! It's only going to get better from here.
